CVT oil is good overall. Anything else I should check?

Unfortunately people run into problems after changing their CVT oil. Most mechanics and workshops do not follow the correct procedure to change the CVT fluid.

It’s also not recommended to change it so early, Toyota even says factory filled CVT fluid is for life of transmission. But I usually advise people to target 100k km for CVT fluid change as it’s a machine after all.. but ONLY with proper method, otherwise don’t let anyone touch it .

How did you check ? Vitz has no dipstick to check CVT oil level or condition that easily.

Considering you are already past the recommended 40k change the CVT oil and 90% sure your problem would be gone

100k KM is probably why people end up having dead gearboxes. 40-50k is average range.

Look it up on google. And follow Toyota service manuals from countries where Toyota has direct presence like US.

Also, 40k may be for traditional automatics. Not for CVT, and certainly not for a Toyota CVT. There’s a reason it does not have any dipstick and is sealed!! These are NOT meant to have their fluids changed on a regular basis. Do NOT change before at least 80,000km. It’s just stupidity and on top of that risking problems with your transmission if CVTF is not changed in the proper OEM method.

Also again look up on google. People doing 100-200k+ without cvtf replacements, two of my Toyota cvts did 100k+ without cvtf change zero issue . If someone is obsessed with changing, which is not a bad idea if done properly, don’t do it before 80k km.

I chnaged the oil in 2019 when I first bought the car.it was fresh import. I had to change it because transmission was giving sound after heatup. with proper cleaning and using the Toyota genuine CVT oil issue was gone. After 6 years this happened

recently I have bought Toyota RAV4 which has e-CVT and its mention in the manual that no need to replace the oil till 200k. But it also depend on weather condition. In Pakistan usually we have hot climate and dusty weather. so might need replacement after 80 to 100k.if I am not wrong @mgalaxy3
