Yaris:
* 1 category below Corolla.
* Less space especially headroom.
* Less powerful - more fuel-efficient engine with CVT, a system designed for fuel-efficiency.
* Smaller and more compact.
* More features than Altis 1.6
* Lower price.
* Some people don't like the looks of Yaris, but this is subjective.
Altis 1.6:
* Larger cabin, better rear space. Being 1 category higher also means the suspensions should be softer. More luxurious for passengers overall.
* More hp, higher power, 4 speed Automatic.
* Less fuel efficient.
* Larger dimensions.
* Less features in the 1.6 variant. No push start and smart entry, no climate control.
* Higher price.
* Depends on Toyota Indus, but current Corolla is an outgoing model, might get replaced soon. Already been replaced in most markets. Yaris has also received a facelift in some markets, that might come here too, but it'll not be a change of generation.
See the pros and cons, there is no right or wrong here, both are great cars. Depends on what you want (and what cons apply less to your needs).
