I recently received a Toyota Yaris ATIV 1.3 CVT after 3 months booking from dealership in Lahore.
Very next day after delivery I noticed deep scratches on one alloy RIM along its corner where rubber touches the Alloy wheel.
Scratches were only on quarter portion of alloy rim and no impact was on rubber tyre.
This indicated that it could not have happened during driving but only could happen at tyre installation time
From past experience I know that such scratches usually appear when new rubber tyre is being installed with metal tool and the tool rubs against edges of alloy rim.
Mostly people who go through tyre change or repair know what kind of scratches I mean.
I reported this the very next working day to Toyota dealership but they immediately refused to even investigate it and said that this cannot happen from them and it that customer has damaged it himself by hitting a curb
I tried to convince them that curb hit damage cannot happen like this. If car hits a curb then both rubber tyre and alloy wheel show damage but in this case tyre and sourrounding area was scratchless. But Dealership customer care team simply refused to entertain my claim.
Annoyed by their response I wrote to Indus motor company and explained the matter to them.
But Indus only replied that we are looking into your case. After few reminders they also stopped responding and even their phone contact person stopped picking my phone. I tried calling with a different number after which they picked my phone and again responded that we will get back on this
After facing such cold response from dealership and the parent company I am really concerned about their quality checks and their logistics procedures.
There is no consumer protection in case any vehicle is handed over with hidden damage.
Consumers must unite and raise voice to protect themselves against such incidents as these companies refuse to take any claim no matter how logical the matter is. The moment they have the signed acceptance form in their hands their relationship with you ends there and then.
As long as their cars are selling in high number they will not care about such complaints.
