Toyota Yaris belt sound

I have driven Yaris Ativ cvt for abt 9500 km and during tour to naran belt started giving normal sound upon acceleration. Kindly guide how to overcome this problem..

Sir i was facing the exact same issue in my Yaris Ativ CVT 8000KM you will have to go through the Yaris Dedicated Thread to check the details of my issue. I have shared all the progress there and it is long story so I won’t be able to explain it here, but I advise you to visit the dealership as soon as possible. I was also observing whistle sound while accelerating and my Belt, Alternator and Tensioner were changed under warranty.

Thanks for your comments. It was generator pully sound which has been replaced under warranty. Issue stands resolved.

My car is having the same issue and dealership said that they will replace the tensioner under warranty but they do not have the part available

If you're saying about whinning noise like: "wheeeinnnn" then that's 100% normal in case of cvt. Cvt works on pressure build up by oil.
It's not a belt noise, belt noise would be so much that you will not able to bear it at all. It's way more then engine belt and your transmission will break in just few kms.
If it's engine belt. Claim warranty.

Which tyres you're using?
How much you have driven your car and the set of tyres you're using.

Driven 20,000 km and on stock tyres

Get them checked on a balancing machine. 90% of the times 40km/h vibration is from tyres. General is notorious for this.

Is it dangerous if we continue to drive with this Fan belt Tensioner noise ? Can it damage any other part of the engine or transmission? I have Active x 1.5 CVti
As Toyota says it's replacement shall come after 20 days.

Tensioner pully + belt is common prob.. some days back i visited Johar Toyota.i was talking to the manager he says there are 125 cars in Que for Tensioner pully+ belt..

and it doest harm engine as such but puts load on the alternator
sigh..

better check ur car asap.
