Toyota Yaris in Careem/Uber

Hi i'm planning to get yaris ativ x 1.5 cvt variant in 6-8 months. as i will be using it primarily for my family, and on weekend my plan is to put it on uber & careem. are these companies accepting 1500cc cars? what category they will put in?

A new sedan car is straight away considered as a business category and upon captain’s discretion can be switched to Go+ as well

thanks for replying. but what are the ratio of business cars in uber/careem in lahore? i see people who don't get rides waiting for long, in either business/go+ category, swtiches or automatically get rides to lower category, and they say hamari gari business ki thi go+ par ride hai apki? if this is so how come captains complete their bonus quota rides in a month? can you give any insight?

This is a fact not to complete their quota but to earn anything when the customers prefer for Go+ being cheap and avoid business category than captains of business category (only if they wish) step down on category and accept Go+ category which gives benefit to customers not to captain

such business practices leads to downfall for the company. in the end it is captains that makes their company profitable. i was searching and find out that uber pro doesn't exist here. Uber Pro is a new rewards program that is designed to help Uber drivers earn more money, save money on gas. this is in selected countries only. maybe only in Australia.

if such rewards are introduced here, both comapny as well captain misuse them, to get more benefit out of nation.

In all honesty, driving Careem is only worth it to reimburse fuel costs (with a slight profit) while driving to your destination. I myself use the destination filter feature to drive between my university and home.

Otherwise, it's lucrative days are long gone - the fatigue, and the wear and tear on your car is simply not worth it to make peanuts, unless you somehow manage to drive 14+ hours a day; even slaves had better work conditions back in the day.

I drive a Suzuki Khyber (go mini) on petrol - fuel consumption is 13 km/l without A/C in moderate traffic. A return trip to my university costs ~750 in petrol for 80 km if I go straight from home to the university.

I get around 200-300 profit per ride; remember, if a trip costs 400 to the customer, the driver keeps around 300, and the rest is to be paid to Careem.

It takes around 2-3 trips one way to reach near my university, so a total of 4-6 trips a day (adding 15-20 km to my journey). Since I often drive when peak factor is active, then I usually break even, or maybe have rs 150-200 extra profit.

Edit: this doesn't account for the wear and tear on the vehicle (oil, brakes, tyres, hissa and suspension components, wheel bearings etc, not to mention the occasional biker kissing the side of your car with his bike).

ohh.. i didn't knew this one. yes wear and tear is solely for the owner. occasional kissing se to koi b nhi bach sakta unless someone is having vigo daalas around to deal with bikers. insurance hone k bawajood this is hectic to go workshop and do repairs. phir insurance walon ko br br elehda se yad dilao. thankyou.

If you’ve not been in this business before I would suggest better consider some alternative business proposition at least I would not invest around 3M on this venture (No offence / Respect to all)

tbh transport is not a business just a headache huge investment but very low profit margin

thankyou for the advise, i was not going to invest in this, as no sane person would invest 3 million in this venture with not-acceptable profit margins. i was just asking for the weekend days only. thankyou for the opinions.
