So I drove the 1.5 CVT and 1.3 MT today as test drive cars. I was initially looking for a 1.5 Ativ, later decided to switch Alto with the Gli 1.3 CVT.
After driving the 1.5 altho it has alot of goodies, but a Corolla Gli AT standing next to it felt more value for money. The driving position is very comfortable, didn't feel the need of the height adjuster, the seats are very comfortable.
But the car isn't very responsive. Felt very heavy with 4 people (sales man, me, another driver, and a guard), Probably CVT lag
Then later drove the 1.3 Gli manual, it felt okay they didnt have a 1.3 CVT for test drive.
Adding 80k to the Gli Yaris makes sense for the goodies it offers. But the base grade Gli is definitely a hatch back killer against picanto, Swift, Vitz, Passo.
Personally I am off the 1.5 ATIV for now. For that much money one should either consider Altis or a used Altis 1600.
If someone direly needs push start and climate control its their choice. For the Yaris size I guess key start and Manual AC is good enough.
Currently they are comiting August deliveries.
