Finally someone sensible. I drove the car merely for 5 kms. The lag that i am referring to is there in a 1800cc Corolla to. And it is there in toyota premio aswell, and that's the lag where everyone refers to Vitz ka pickup hee nae hai.
If you have driven a 1800cc automatic transmission and you floor it, you would know what I am talking about, the CVT lacks that feel.
CVT takes it's time to speed up.
Rest the car is definitely fantastic. And probably a F16 on better / longer routes. Definitely not a race car but let's see if it can maintain 200-2500 rpms on 100-120 kmph speeds. For overtaking the cars manual shift is pretty decent and responsive.
PS : being a senior pakwheeler doesn't make me better knowledged. I am learning too. I am no mechanic or techy. Just a regular car user like many other people.
Toyota isnt owned by me or my uncle's where I would defend it neither i own a Gli or a 1.5 Ativ where I would be biased. But that 8hp is a very small difference. Taxes being same indus motors can offer the same 1500cc engine right from the base grade yaris and offer 6 options on the 1500cc engine alone. Prices won't differ too much.
The 1.3 CVT and 1.5 CVT would more or less be very similar in terms of performance. I am still trying to get a 1.3 CVT test car drive aswell.
I didnt find the car noisy. I full throttled the car. It was responsive. The seating position, the seats are very good. No need of the height adjuster.
I didnt drive the car with sports mode or eco mode. Drove it as it is. Btw is this your first 1500cc car ?
