am lookin for upgrade of Lancer 2006 it is flawless after 215000 kms without any overhaul. single handedly used by a family member, maintenance is still my JOB description.
So i decided to Test drive a Yaris
i did not compared it with the Altis. i find that in general a pathetic piece of khota gari. The only comparison that came to my mind because the one we use to steal for DRIVE when dhobi was inside the house & his rolls royce with Gudu Dulha was tied pine tree outside the house. whole load of dirty laundry bags & 6 boys from neighborhood jump over it.
feature ... the lancer have 5 speed manual tranny ac power steering seat belts, the basics are there. Even in my daily rider 22 year old corolla i have those. Lancer we have has some scratches by bikers from parking spaces otherwise it is as reliable as any mercedes of 70s'.
Am sure Yaris will be bad dream of Indus. It will bite the dust of Honda City the new shape anticipated. City is an established credible name at Mid Level Sedan, while Yaris has to struggle alot in order to capture 1300 class.
Indus should have badged it VItz not Yaris, Vitz being synonymous due to JDM may have got more attention and share at launch.
Khota gari will remain a khota gari even if Indus reduce 150000 after tax price, upon budget announcement.
