The car is excellent, I also have a gli manual and a city AT alongside yaris, my comparison with city won't be valid since my city is 2011 model has around 200k on the dial, loads of wear and tear so opinion might be baised due to its age. my corolla is 2014 and Alhumdulillah is pristine condition, around 50k driven.
Comparing to corolla yaris is smaller. Although suspension is soft but not like corolla's legendary smooth suspension. In bigger bumps, if the car is not loaded you do hear a "DUUNG" when the car is new, i notice it vanished after i upgraded the tyres... i am still not sure if it vanished after the first inspection or the tyre change, however, its gone.
Some people complain about sticky doors, if you seal the windows, yes, they are at times sticky as the car gets air tight, very unusual for Pakistani cars to have such seals so some people think its a problem, but those who understand the logic don't mind alot. You do enjoy the soundless cabin, this minor tradeoff does not matter alot.
As regards build quality, its very good, seats are magnificent, i would rate them better than most of the cars, dashboard is ok, steering is nice, sound system is good, the sound of speakers is brilliant, however, screen is not the best, feels like an old generation screen, still its better integrated than the chinese androids being provided in city and altis. JVC Kenwood does what its meant for, brilliant audio output.
Climate Control, CVT Gearbox, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control and Hill Start Assist take comfort and ease of driving to the next level.
Yaris is quite easy to handle, you don't get tired, lesser blind spots and better visibility add to handling ease.
Pick is not quick like city, nor is it sluggish like corolla 1.3 auto. Its something in between. However, when you take it to manual shifting its response is very good. I have 1.5 variant tested it upto 180 the reponse was good. I noticed that Yaris is more stable than gli. You feel out of control when you drive gli over 140 however, Yaris somehow makes you feel in control, you don't slowdown with the fear of loosing control. Maybe because of VSC, can't say.
Overall, i would say its a good car, fuel efficiency is doggy, you get 15 and you get 10, shorter trips, high revs average drops, medium distances and normal revs, you may even see 16... haven't yet taken it out for a proper long drive...
