Yaris's launch price ativ X CVT was 2,815,000. Cheaper then Gli AT. So price difference in actual is 420000 not 70,000 to 80,000
Corolla in pakistan was subsidized car being striped of features. It was not possible for IMC to sell corolla at this price anymore. And another reason for Honda not to bring in the latest City because it would cost more then a Xli/Gli. Which the market won't accept.
And this price difference of rs.420,000 is sufficient to tell you that Yaris is a economical product.
Just like a Rav4 being a 5 seater is a better product then a Fortuner.
WagonR minus features is over all a better product then the Alto. Similarly Cultus is. Better product over WagonR. You choose if you want a better product or better features.
Just like adding folding side mirrors and AGS transmission doesn't makes Alto a better car then the WagonR, Similarly push start and climate control doesn't makes Yaris a better product too.
Yaris is positioned below corolla, and you should compare Yaris Gli with Corolla altis with a price difference or atleast 1 million. Others are optional features.
Price of the engine is nothing. Merely 50k. Honda is also selling standard honda city 1500 for rs.50,000 for. And Indus motors also launched a 1600 Manual Altis with stripped features with a very attractive price.
Finally coming to your family purchase decision. Decide between. Yaris Gli or 1.3 ATIV and Corolla Altis 1600 the price difference is 10 lack rupees.
Others are optional features. If they want to buy the ATIV X then surely Corolla sounds like a better option.
PS. As u mentioned looks of wagonr and Cultus, so yes the corolla looks prettier then the Yaris anyday.
One more point Id like to mention is.
Baleno, Liana, honda City has always offered more features then a Corolla Xli and sometimes more then Gli too.
Where does a 10 year old Baleno, liana, city stand against a 10 year old Corolla today. You decide.
