Can someone verify whether aftermarket cruise control can be installed in it or not? Cruise control steering switch along with steering wire connector are available for this model at cheap prices BUT whether internal wiring to the ECU is pre-installed or not....thats the question.

i have asked a guy (who used to provide me genuine parts for my Corolla) about Yaris parts. he said they are on the way.
engine drive Belt: Genuine From Market:4000 (10000 from dealership)
Fuel Pump assembly with filter without Pump. From Market 7800 (18900 from the dealership)

so genuine parts of yaris will be available in local market soon.

Yesterday I got to see some cars (only 1.3 variants). I didn't find quality materials used in the engine bay, like the sheet metal, rubber, plastic etc. Attaching a reference pic:

I noticed another thing. The plastic cover on top of radiator was really hot. But according to the driver it was barely driven 15 km. I don't know if that's okay or not?

Ok for information of all respected members side mirror of Suzuki Cultus VXR (not electronic manual one) costed 27000 yes twenty seven thousand and labour was charged separately and that was one year back. So no point of discussion k Yaris ki head light expensive hai. Its another way of lotting by Car Companies. This point should be highlighted by someone to Consumer Courts so atleast consumer should be compensated in parts if not in Invoice of car and taxes.

You are right. I have experienced it with my Suzuki swift & Honda Vezel in past. Vezel is imported so leave that but parts of local cars are also extremely expensive. Just for example, if someone takes quotation of all parts of any particular vehicle and add up the total amount, the final cost will be more than 5 times of the price of vehicle itself. I had an abs unit issue & Suzuki quoted 192000 rs for new unit, whereas the market price of car at that time was 1350000.

This yaris thread deserves contribution from senior PWs like u to raise its overall IQ level.

manual side mirror pr 27k lga dya bhai market se lekr khud lga lete 3 nuts he to hain. however,that is beside the fact, since i was checking the insurance rates, usually its 70/30 division between insurance company and owner if accident happens. now parts and labour from outside vs dealership has the almost the same ratio. dealership 70percent more expensive than outsider (proper shop). looks like dealership rates are set in accordance with the insurance company that has it on its panel. it works out for both parties and ultimately the loser is car owner, whether he is coming without insurance or with insurance.

We've got members here complaining that a headlight for Yaris costs 50K plus.
So basically, an OEM part and that too bought from a dealership is expensive?
What do these guys expect? A pair for 15K? With 200W HID kits installed?

depreciation rates on parts only apply in Insurance claims. no depreciation is there for labor+denting+painting no matter how old a car is. depreciation on parts only is applicable depending on age of car, 10% per annum maximum upto 60%

include KIA and Hyundai in this then. Since they dont have a competing sedan in this segment, its still big 3 we are dealing with. I dont expect KIA or hyundai to be any better, they are just tooling up to shove obsolete model sedans down your throat.

An interesting fact about Yaris which, I believe, majority people (including owners) don't know about & that is, how does Yaris Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC) works?

In our PKDM Yaris, it works by firmly pressing the break pedal (and then releasing break pedal) and it'll hold the breaks for couple of seconds. I've tested it today and it worked like a charm. FYI - after a couple of seconds or so, it'll release the break automatically. This is enough time to press accelerator & get going.

Being the owner of the Yaris Ativ MT & have a friend who owns 1.3 Ativ CVTi, I've tested it on both cars today.

The good thing is, this feature is completely automatic - no need to enable/disable this feature. Here's a good watch if you're interested to know about it.
