I have driven my civic X from Lahore to Islamabad at speeds not exceeding 100kmph (mostly 90-100) and it gave 18kmpl.
So its possible.

Civic is known for shit average. You claims are untrustworthy.

Brother on long route here comes the difference of 1.6 and 1.8 Grande In Grande always used to get 18 plus on meter from Lahore to Mian chanuu. Speed range as per traffic conditions is 75 to 110 Now on my Turbo Civic it gives 17 plus including some little shorts of 160 / 170 three or four times on Okara Bypass and Sahiwal Chichawatni patches...

Fuel Consumption?Altis 1.6 vs. Altis Grande?

At constant, Signal Free Speed (Islamabad Expressway for instance) it gives me average of 18-19 km/l and has got upto 22 kmpl at max, at sweet engine speed and lightest possible foot.

In all my 3 trips on highway, mileage was 14.5-16kmpl..with average speed of 140-150kmph..i find it very good. In same traffic situation in city my manual city 1.3 aspire gave me max 11.5 and upgrade of 500cc over city has caused no big difference at all...auto is another comfort which cannot be ignored

Notice the average of 14.5-16 on speeds of 14-150 in the last post. It seems to me that you have probably never driven a Grande. I can get you 15+ on a Grande even inside city, no matter how painful that drive will be. But the point is, it is very doable to get 18-19 kmpl on Grande on 100 kph. If you drive at 70kph constantly (I know its not practical), you can get above 21 kmpl easily.

Also, smaller engines on heavier bodies give worse fuel average than bigger engines on the same body. Your GLi will never give as good an average as a Grande on the same speed while cruising on motorway.

I have kept and driven 2015 xli, 2017 grande and recently 2020 yaris 1.5 cvti. The consumption figures quoted above are correct.

xli is about 13-14 km/l on highway drive. Grande about 16-17 and Yaris is somewhere between 17-18 km/l. All these averages calculated from fuel refill method not from onboard computer.

Last weekend i traveled from Lahore to Highland Resort Pir Sohawa and back to Lahore. From Lahore to Islamabad i got 12.5 - 12.8 plus (meter reading) and my average speed was 135-140 with 2 adults and 2 kids and trunk was fully loaded.

While coming back to lahore i was getting 14.5 at speed of 120. From Kala Shah Kaku i was getting 18-19 at speed of 100. I cant do anything if you dont believe it

Those are believable figures..

14km/L at 120km/hr speed is believable.

18 at 100km/Hr or below speed is also believable.

Have seen even Vitz 1.0 getting 18km/L at 100 km/hr... by comparison Yaris has a better/more power engine so should give a bit better average.

He's right. I get it you're frustrated because you never achieved such figures but don't forget, this is not the platform to let it out. Keep it calm here.
Our civics and grandes with their CVT transmissions perform brilliantly on motorways and at 100 km throughout the route( minus the salt range area) 19 is a piece of cake dor these cars.
My Xli 2008 used to give me an average of 12-14 Km/L from Rwp-Lahore ( with occasional full throttles) average speed 120-130
Once i hypermiled this car on 80-100 km per hour on M2 and got a.staggering average of 18km/h back in 2010.
My Xli 2013 used to give me an average of 12-13km/L from M2 Rwp-Lahore. Speed 120( with occasional full throttles) Average speed 120-130
My city 1.3 manual used to do 13-14 Km/L on the same route( with occassional full throttle bursts) Average speed 120-130
My E200 Kompressor gave me 13- 14 km/L on 129 cruise( flooring her was a charm)
My City 1.5 PT gives me 12-13 Km/L on the same route ( yes , i floor her as well) Average speed 120-130
My Civic 1.8 CVT gives me 15-16 Km/L on the same route( obviously i floor her as well) Cruise on 129
Also,my JDM alto 2013 with CVT gives me 18-20 km/L in Lahore city driving. My route os canal road, jail road , , JT ,Dha.
Having said this,
these readings are based on the reading given on the cars meter.
Average fluctuates and is different for every car i suppose
Driving style is the main determining factor here i reckon
Hypermiling is a thing and can return you amazing results but it requires time and patience which we all lack.
M2 Lhr - Rwp route is difficult for the car
Rwp-lhr route is easier and car drives effortlessly

If you want a car for rougher roads, Yaris is second only to Corolla. Honda City (current model in Pakistan) cannot compete with Yaris and is an older and inferior product. Nobody should buy it brand new now when better option (Yaris) is available.

Although it's still a good option in used if price is right.

Bhai Toyota main kuch kharab nai hota unless u drive them in river, or burn them in fire, i ve kept them since 2000 . Their suspension is like rocks. Keep enjoying. Tension na lain.

Interestingly, there was an episode of Top Gear, called Killing a Toyota, where they drowned an old Land Cruiser in a sea, and burned it, and hit it with a wrecking ball, and put it on top of a building and demolished that building, and even after that, the car started and moved, after fixing from basic tools, without using any spare parts. So, not sure driving them in river or burning them in fire will kill them .

Another toyota recall with fuel pump issue. All petrol varients being recalled as per the article on Pakwheels blog by @fazalwahab11375

Just wondering how and when will they recall yaris for the same because i came across another 1.5 ativ x user who faced the same issue as me.
