How effective is the ECO and SPORTS mode in 1.5 Atix X....?
I want to know bcz ECU and Meter of 1.3 also include this feature, but there is no switch available for ECO and SPORTS mode in 1.3 cvt.

while getting the cruise stick installed. I noticed 1 more extra plug, which the electrician told me is for the PADDLE Shifters. He told me to bring the back portion of Grande's steering....

Eco mode helps change the gears at lower RPM and keeps the engine noise at minimum and yes, does help the mileage a little.

All in all, its not a gimmick.

where did you get the cruise control installed from? is it working properly? any issues about warranty?

Well sports mode is effective in hilly areas. See the manual and they suggested to use sports mode in hilly areas for maximum engine breaking.

Dont expect wonders from sports mode, it will just change gear ratio and car will remain in higher RPM for better response. Sometimes i feel normal mode needs a little push, not in terms of rash driving but sports mode give you a good feeling

I am thinking to book Yaris after Eid. I am confused between 1.3 & 1.5 CVT variants. My family is three kids, wife and me. I am also fond of travelling to hilly areas. But at the same time, fuel efficiency is also my main concern. I am told that 1.3 engine could "exert" more and result in increase fuel consumption.
Secondly I don't like OEM infotainment in Yaris as it can't connect to internet. In 1.5 variant that would be additional cost for me to install after market android panel. But this is just a secondary issue. Main concern is fuel efficiency. My 97% of travelling is within city in speed range between 20-60 km/hr.
Looking for your inputs.

Which city? Mileage depends on the city and how you drive

The fuel efficiency difference is not much as one is 1340cc and other us 1490cc.
In CVT transmission you will only have negligible effect of you drive with light foot. But if you like to accelerate then you will get difference of mileage

Agreed. If you live in Lahore or Karachi then automatically your inner city mileage would be less. Similarly if you live in Islamabad or Rawalpindi or Peshawar then your inner city mileage would be greater than that of lahore or Karachi as there is comparatively less traffic.

If you drive with a heavy foot(accelerate hard) then 1.3 or 1.5 doesnt matter. You would get the same numbers. In 1.5 you do get the Eco mode which helps in lower engine compression and increases mileage a tad bit.

If you can live without the climate control, eco/sports mode, drls, slightly better mileage then just go for the 1.3 ativ model.

I am user of 1.5 x and recently i have done 3 trips from lahore to islamabad and 2 of them was day trips. During these trips i found seats of yaris are very comfortable, I dont know about 1.3 but the premium fabric of 1.5 is really comfortable. I have 2017 gli auto as well if i rate gli seats 6/10, i will give yaris 9/10.

Only you can decide whether the added price is giving you added value or not. I think i made the right decision to buy 1.5

Everyone is guessing about the mileage here. You cannot give suggestion based on your assumptions.
According to tests done by different auto journalists in the Philippines, Yaris/Vios 1.3 CVT clearly have better mileage than 1.5 CVT.

Here's one example of AutoDeal Philippines. This is what they say about 1.3 CVT

An hour running at an
average speed of 90 km/h returned 22.3 km/L, while spending the same
time in heavy traffic read back 10.2 km/L. Faster paces at around 60
km/h on a Sunday read 14.2 km/L. Take note that these fuel economy
figures were taken with only one occupant inside the car without any
cargo.

AutoDeal did a detailed review for 1.5 CVT as well and here's what they say about fuel economy

Of course, with a bigger engine, the Vios G was less
frugal than its 1.3L counterparts, but it wasn’t bad at all. An hour of
crawl through city traffic returned 8.1 km/L while doing Sunday errands
at an average speed of 60 km/h clocked in 13.1 km/L. On the highway, I
got a good 19.2 km/L while trying to keep the car at a steady pace at 90
km/h for 30 minutes.

let me tell you one thing 1.3 and 1.5 both cars are not same. Yes they are same model but there are other factors which makes both cars different. You cannot say 1.3 gli and 1.6 altis are same. You definitely get better quality in higher model. So by simply comparing the mileage one should not decide which variant is better. At the end of the day you will be getting 1-2 km of difference

With 5 persons, 1.3 engine may exert more and would result in more fuel consumption as compared to 1.5.
Same 1.3 engine could be more economical with one person inside as compared to 1.5.
This is just my understanding. May be wrong.

Sir you gotta factor in the initial investment as well. Paying a difference of 2-3 lacs, even if you get better efficiency with 1.5, do you really think you would even out 2-3 lac worth of fuel considering what the users have suggested i.e. 2 kmpl difference. Plus this point goes in favor of 1.3, according to users. Fuel should be your secondary priority in my opinion and saving your pocket initially should be first.
P.S. i would still suggest to go for 1.5 (always taaap of the line model). The extra bells and whistles are worth it in my opinion. However 1.3 would save you some bucks initially plus on fuel as well (according to users).

The screen is not as flashy as the android but i retained it as chinese android is no match for the sound quality

Baqi Ativ X is way superior than 1.3 both in build quality and engine performance. Climate Control, Push Start, 6 speakers, Ultra Quiet Cabin due to Acoustic Windscreen... i have a gli and an ativ x... go for 1.5 variant if you plan to buy automatic and gli if you plan manual
