Sports mode is different in a way that it allows transmission to change gear slab on its own. It may increase rpm but by shifting into upper gear decreases power. Not suitable for climb.
Rpm was around 3000 in gear 1on those climbs.
Tiptronic is really blessing in yaris. It is also essential in descend. That was my first experience of automatic car and learnt these things during my recent trip to batakundi.

That's pretty decent... if it managed the steepest portion at 3k then the car should do just fine under most scenarios.

I am Ativ X CVT user.
I have taken my car to Pir Chinasi and upper neelum valley.
The upper neelum track is dead slow and very steep with turns after every 5-6secs (though only 2km total).

I had no issue on both climbs.
For pir chinasi climb, I used 50/50, D and triptronic M1/2
For upper neelum climb, I used triptronic M1.

However, I saw a 1.3GLI MT Yaris in upper neelum and they said their car struggled to climb up.
So, I think there can be a one off issue like this with some cars for sure.

I already wrote my experience my Yaris Ativ 1.3 CVT earlier in this forum i am satisfied with it as i have visited upstill babusar top and have faced no issue during the climb or while coming downhill. One more thing i want to mention is when i went to Monal Islamabad for the first time on this car i was also experiencing that the RPM was not going above 2-2.5k but i found that my 7D Mats were blocking the accelerator from being fully pressed, on the next turn i stopped my car and i cut the part of the 7D Mat which was blocking the accelerator and after that I was good to go and i easily climbed uptill Monal.

In Lahore City Traffic it is giving me between 10-11.5 (in winters without AC it was between 11.5-12) and on Motorway its around 14 on 120 and 15-15.5 on 110-115 (this was with 4 adults+luggage and AC) and The Overall Average i got during my Trip from Lahore to Babusar was around 12.8-13 which included City+Motorway+Uphill+Downhill i am pretty satisfied with it but i hope it will get better because in the initial 4-5000KM the max average i got in city was 9.5-10.5 . One of my relatives have a Yaris Gli CVT and they have driven it around 18-20K and according to them it is giving them 13-14 easily in Faisalabad but i think in Lahore’s Bumper to Bumper traffic the max anyone could get is around 10-11. One More thing i wanted to say many people don’t check the Tire pressure regularly and i have seen people who have 24-25 PSI in their tires and they are complaining about the average of their car, i have experienced this myself that if the tires are under inflated it definitely affects the fuel average.

anything below 14 is not acceptable. civic X gives 12.5 in city. i am planning to buy 1.5 cvt but i am listening to conflicting reports on mileage. some say it easily does 15 in medium traffic. i am confused.

Sir I think i am getting low mileage figures because i idle a lot because my family is with me almost all the time and i have stop at places and wait in the car for 10-15 mins with AC on wherever i stop. My Cultus 2019 easily gives 16.5-17 in Lahore when i am alone and not idling with AC on but whenever i start idling the average drops to 14-15 maybe if someone doesn’t idle a lot Yaris will give around 14-14.5 but definitely not more than that in city traffic. Plus my relatives in Faisalabad claimed that they got 17.5-18 on motorway at 115-120KM/H with 4 adults but i laughed it off. Maybe my car is in it’s break in period that’s why i am getting this average. I currently have City 1.3AT 2015 and that gives around 9.5-10 and my GLI 1.3AT is giving 8.5-9 nowadays . Plus I am a slightly heavy foot driver that could also be the reason.

The climbing issue of the yaris is pretty obvious. People who are not facing issues are most likely driving with less load or relying on momentum. Vice versa for people facing climbing issues. My company got an NCP thai 1.8 manual 2014 model corolla in gb. And even that car with a single person and no load sometimes struggles hard to climb and sometimes even refuses to climb in some places without momentum. Today the car refused to climb from the attabad lake road when I stopped due to another car blocking me from the front, I had to go down and build momentum. On the other hand I also saw glis climbing up today without much of an issue just cause they didn't have to stop like I did. I have even seen v6 prados struggling if they lose momentum.

So there's not much to worry about for people who faced the climbing issues. Contrary to popular belief, most same model cars have pretty much the exact same performance with maybe at a max 1-2 percent difference. Cars much more powerful than 1.5 yaris face issues in the north. Pretty much all of our local cars are straight up underpowered and not suited for taking up north. I personally prefer not taking my own cars up north as they are much more suited for our flat cities. Plus driving cars in the northern areas is very hard on every part of the car and ages them a lot.

Very true. It has happened with me. Once my left front tyre had 20 psi pressure. Milage on highway dropped to 15. Though it looked optimally inflated but coz of sudden drop in milage I checked all wheels and found culprit one. Front tyres always look a bit deflated so I did not pay attention. When I inflated it to 30 psi then average came back to 16.6. Therefore tyre pressure monitoring system should be installed.

OEM recommended tyre pressure is 32 front/30 back but everyone goes for 30 front/30 back. Whats the reason for this? Should we follow OEM pressure or go for 30 front?

Ok... Need some feedback.

Went for my 1000Km inspection.

They did a few basic things, the usual stuff but there is something that they did which was a little unexpected.

They took pics of the MID Mileage Statistics and then reset the whole data. I asked why they have done that.. no satisfactory response.

I was curious so I asked one of the junior techs what's going on? He said that fuel pumps are being replaced under warranty as there is some issue in many cars and they are checking the data for that.

They also took a test drive and checked acceleration response repeatedly but only using ECO Mode. I guess they were checking the fuel pump/fuel delivery.

The technician later told me that my car is fine and there seems to be no issue with the fuel pump but they would like to review the fuel mileage data again at 3500km ODO .. also he said that I should get the first oil change at 3500 and then every 5000km.

So 3 questions....

1. Has anyone gotten their fuel pump replaced under warranty? What's the issue in the fuel pump? If there isn't then why they were testing the acceleration response and mileage data?

2. Isn't the first oil change to be done at 5000km ODO? Or should I just listen to them and get the first oil change at 3500?

3. Which Oil is to be used? & How much? (Both the quantity as well as price) That is available at the dealership? I saw Taglon there 5w30 if I am not mistaken.... I guess fully synthetic was written on that..

These are not branded. Battery life few months. Moreover not reliable. I am saying all this after going through reviews.
Xoami sensors available. Cost around 15k. Still indecisive whether to spend money or not.
I thought 32 rear and 30 front. Thanks for correction.
When I went for 1000 service faisalabad canal toyota dealership took photos of trunk and MID. he said it's just to keep data. But they didn't reset. They were rechecking fuel pump issue of Toyota models earlier than 2019.

Toyota hasn't dispatched my car till now, booked on 25th of June, sales guy at dealership told me that they are facing chip shortage and due to that the delivery of cars delayed, when I asked Toyota Indus on email they replied with unforeseen delay in this variant (CVT)
I think Yaris customers will face delayed deliveries in future

I have seen mehrans and bolans on monal , there is no reason why a 1.3 yaris should struggle to climb up there.
