Same here i have started to use eco mode since the petrol prices are increased to 160 I am getting around 14.5 within city and my daily commute is around 60KM including child pick and drop from school

I have bought a Yaris ATIV 1.3 CVT. I have noticed that I have to press down the paddle hard especially on motorway to maintain 120km/hr. I also have a 1.3 corolla GLI automatic and you dont have to press the paddle so down to reach or maintain 120km/hr and neither is this case with my reborn.

Can this be fixed? I have seen this complaint in this thread from other members too. If you shift it to tiptronic mode then you dont have to press the paddle so much and speed goes up but the rpms go up too. Its currently driven around 2500kms.

I would appreciate reply from owners of Yaris 1.3 CVT.

I was also facing the same issue initially but i guess you will also have to get used to it, i think the cvt in yaris is designed in a way to keep the rpm as low as possible so when you are maintaining a speed of 120km/h you have to press hard to keep the rpm around 2.4-2.5 as soon as you ease a bit on the pedal the rpm comes at 1.4-1.5 and the car starts crusing at 100-105. Another thing which i badly miss is the dead pedal plus the area where the dead pedal should have been placed is tilted so you cannot even keep your left foot there for a long time it starts hurting.

Thanks for your reply. Then I think, on motorway one should shift to Tiptronic and keep it in 6th gear at 120km/hr. That's at least comfortable a bit. I don't drive Yaris much as I bought it for my wife but I had this experience when driving on motorway and my foot got tired, I have got an old civic aka reborn for my personal use and I still feel the driving pleasure of reborn is better than that of Yaris even being 13 years old and around 100k driven. Not to forget the fuel average of yaris ativ cvt and reborn prosmatec is not much different.

Civic prosmatec 2008 is giving me around 10 km/L in Lahore during peak hours.
Yaris ATIV CVT giving same and it is 2500 Km driven. Talked with Toyota and they say that it will improve over time but I dont think it will improve much.

I think that 10 KM/L from 1.5 CVT is really low, it should be doing atleast 12-13 within City driving.

It might improve with time. Currently, its not good for a 1.3 whether cvt or conventional. Even our GLI auto 2015 is giving better milage.

It will improve, i also used to get max 10km/l in city with AC and around 10.5-11 without AC but after the First Tuning and Oil Change the average started to improve and now its giving around 12.5 easily in city without AC

it only has that useless hot and cold light.

apparently the temperature Gauge is too expensive for toyota, honda and even suzuki to afford. maybe there is global shortage of the needle used in it.

I think the blue and red sign for temperature is good enough to serve the purpose. If the red light comes on for heating, it clearly indicates there is something wrong with the engine cooling system, which in my opinion is sufficient to alert the driver.

Even the new swift has the gauge. this is such a deal breaker for me.

Also, the arm rest is at such an awful position, is there any way, i can get rid of the arm rest??/

or even get a better after market one?

Installed cruise in Ativ X. RPM was around 2100 on speed of 120 Kmph. Got avg of 16 kmpl approx.

I think only the top end version of new swift has it. The GL and GL cvt don't. The swift reviews should clear this point.

I still like an analogue gauge but with a new car you don't have to worry about heating problem
I haven't experienced a red light in newer cars, I am not sure if they turn on as an early warning or when the system is about to fail.

There is no way to get rid of armrest, its part of plastic structure that connects center console with armrest and dashboard. Even if you remove the armrest lid the new one won't fit. You may install an aftermarket cushion on top of it.

After first oil change my 1.3 Ativ is @ 15 km per liter in city without AC
Earlier it was @ 13 km

I get around 14 in drives around Johar Town/Wapda Town area. If I travel on Canal I get 17+ easily.
