Guys please guide, is it better to buy YARIS 1.3 ATIV or YARIS 1.5 ATIV?

Fuel average of these two depend on Traffic Conditions. If there is not much stop start condition and you can drive without much stops and traffic lights, 1.5 will give you better mileage. On Motorway for example 1.5 will have better mileage (more power of 1.5 compared to 1.3 and thus 1.5 burns less fuel to travel the same distance) BUT if lots of idling in Stop-Start traffic and traffic lights then 1.3 will give better mileage.
Now coming to what I prefer, others may disagree. I ALWAYS recommend buying top of the line variants. Reasons;
1. There is no replacement of factory fitted features. People buy lower variants and are then trying to install the features they miss. Its an absolute headache to install aftermarket stuff that just needs cutting lots of wires and are third class quality compared to factory fitted ones.
2. With Price increase Top Variants usually get more expensive compared to lower variants and their price gap increases.
3. Usually higher resale value of higher variants.
4. Higher power cars are always a pleasure to drive and particularly useful in hilly terrain. The slightly underpowered feeling of 1.3 Vs 1.5 is also a significant factor to consider.

Although I haven't driven the 1.5 variant, however, power-wise the difference of just 167cc doesn't seem too much. Nevertheless, 1.5 ATIV has more features like digital climate control, push start, chrome handles (inside and outside), a rear camera with a screen and a distinct MID. The price difference is like 2.7 lacs between the top 1.3 variant and top 1.5 variant.

You may consider your daily drive route before taking the purchase decision. For heavy traffic - go for 1.3, for highway travel 1.3 and 1.5 both seems good options. Weight to power ratio of Yaris is better as compared to the variants of Corolla it has replaced.

AoA members, I have bought a 2020 Yaris 1.5, for some reason climate control green light over the AC & other buttons is very low. Any idea what could be the reason. Panel is changed and android based screen is also installed.

1.5 is much more fuel efficient than 1.3 as engine needs less rpm to drag the car as weight is almost the same

1.5 has superior seats and windscreen is acoustic making it quiter and more pleasureable

Climate control, MID and most of all three driving mode. Sports mode actually works and improves the pickup which is handy when going uphill, 1.3 is quite laggy...

This was a normal drive back from work, on a lite foot, its average is better than alto

Salam pakwheelers!! Got the sms from IMC regarding the delay of Yaris. Does anybody here have any idea of how long the delay is for and when will I get the car delivered.

Also I booked my card on 12th Feb with April as tentative delivery month. More than 60 days have passed so should I expect some refund by IMC for late delivery?

Exactly same case. Last time Toyota delayed my car and paid interest on it, but I didn’t receive such a message. So my guess is that this message implies a much more significant delay. Can someone with inside information provide some more details?

I got the same message. As per my source the issue is lack of ecu’s. As per toyota staff car will be delivered by mid May

Have anyone noticed that now Toyota is using HCVT instead of CVT on the invoicing status. This means that have changed the type of CvT they are using

HCVT means you have booked the higher varient of the 1.3 CVT i.e. 1.3 CVTi ATIV

I am facing problems with my Toyota Yaris power steering, I feel as if it is a bit harder for an EPS. It requires more power to turn than any other steering (Honda City, Honda Civic, Toyota Grande, Suzuki Alto etc). I got it checked from a couple of dealers, they were doubtful too but never admitted that there is any issue with the power steering. They were of the opinion that in case of any issue with the EPS, the light in dash board will be the indicator of this issue, else they cannot make any changes in the car even if it is in warranty. Car is only 1100 Kms driven and is in company's warranty.

Hello Guys my NOV 16 book tentative delivery April car got invoiced.

Dealer ship quoted 26k for infotainment with back camera as Yaris 1.3 Ativ doens't have it.

A friend of mine replaced his ativ x LCD with after market with back camera , he is giving me both so will the LCD of Ativ X 1.5 directly fit into Ativ 1.3 without change of plastic panel.

Went to Toyota 3S regarding the problem I am still facing with my steering. My issue was never resolved, however, the technician said that he would check the car battery if the steering felt hard and loose to me occasionally. My Yaris' battery is stock and MashaAllah working fine so far. His idea suggests that maybe there has been issues concerning hard steering wheel as he wanted to check my battery for its power output. I advise you to first get your battery checked thoroughly as the technician there doubted it too. And do let us know if you find any solution.

I am using 0w-20 in my ativ x and experience is good so far ... getting 16 in light to medium traffic and 14 in medium to heavy traffic in Karachi
