yes i agree with you but people here at forums have made not using 20 w 50 grade oil and changing cvt fluid even at 35k kms mandatory so i played along as to not hurt the traditions over here

Yaris eco and normal mode feel same but there is visible difference on sports mode it gets different speed rpm ratio e.g in eco you can maintain 100 speed at 1900 rpm but in sports its 2500rpm

You shouldn’t be using 20w50 that’s bad for the engine. Not used anywhere in normal cars at least..

But yeah people are obsessed with unnecessarily changing CVT oil when it’s not a regular maintenance thing.

tell that to toyota mechanics pouring 20w50 taglon as soon as the odo hits 60k at toyota dealerships ..and tbh grade of oil still doesnt do much damage to an engine made by toyota or even honda provided that these engines withstand rough use and poor maintenance by owners be it taxi companies or police use or even more then that driven aggressively still they hold up well so seeing all these rugged tests these engines go through using 20w50 wont do any harm maybe in the long run ..apart from maybe sluggish performance at low temps but still grade of oil like 20w50 is nothing of an abuse as compare to what some owners and taxi companies.commercial use etc puts on these engines still they last and will last even on 20w50 ..or else they wouldnt be pouring this grade.

yep visible difference ..in my grande the rpm rises and the shifts get quicker and engine feels more agressive in response overall maybe its a gimmick as 0 to 100 in normal drive has shown faster times..

What local mechanics do is up to them. They don’t have any up to date knowledge about anything.

My argument was to follow what Toyota actually says, we can get to know that by looking at international manuals like US or Japan.

No unnecessary or regular CVT oil changes. Let it drive at least 80k to 100k km and inspect.

Same for engine oil grades, look at owner manuals in JP, US, Thai, Malay. As they are all hubs. Not like indus following pseudo science.

I am planning to buying Yaris 1.5 or Altis 1.6
I have been driving GLi 2016 for 8 years it have served me well now, I have decided to go for Auto transmission as I’m really sick of driving old school tranny. I’m stuck btw Altis and 1.5 Ativ X
Today I went to showroom to check out Yaris as I sat cabin felt quite compact as I was coming from Corolla that’s why? My legs were not comfortable as I’m 6’0 ft or I need to adjust properly before driving. Kindly suggest me which one I should go for?

yaris will have more features but for space and better comfort,drive altis 1.6 is best for you its a proper sedan reliable and durable.

Yaris even 1.5 Is a downgrade from a 1.3 Corolla.

Not really... I used to have a 1.3 GLI auto and now I have an ATIV X. Yaris has more power and is more fuel efficient than the 1.3. Plus the seats in yaris are much more comfortable. The thigh support is a bit less but corolla used to give me backaches on 2-3 hour drives which doesn’t happen with yaris. I've taken several one-day trips from Lahore to Islamabad and back without any having backache

Just like Suzuki Swift is a bigger car then a Cultus, Cultus AGS doesnt makes it superior then a Manual Swift.

So chill, Yaris with more features doesnt makes it a better car. I would still anyday prefer buying a feature less Corolla or even a Elantra GL over a feature packed Yaris or City.

Did i say more features make a car better? BTW the Swift has more power than the Cultus so your comparison is wrong. My point was that yaris is better than the 1.3 in terms of power and fuel efficiency. Im not saying its better in every way

I have come to the conclusion that the Grande is the better option for me. It offers CVT, powerful engine and a spacious, comfortable room. The decision between the Yaris and the corolla was quite challenging, especially if you've been driving a Corolla for an extended period of time.
