I hope it's not too late but for the same money... You can get a used 1.3L Yaris that has most likely been taken care of, or spend the extra cash and get a brand new one, you won't be disappointed. You will not save money buying a Vitz that most likely has the cursed 1.0L engine and will most likely be in junk condition that will demolish your bank account. Every time I see a Vitz, they are always driven recklessly while owners won't shut up about how their JDM car is better than local ones. They are extremely overrated and make no sense buying ever since Yaris was launched since both are technically the same cars. I know Yaris has a trunk but it really makes no difference.
Everything about the Yaris is decent, the built quality, the comfort, the features, the performance, the fuel consumption, the ground clearance, and the aesthetics which no one cares about anymore. I didn't like three things about Yaris. For some reason, every Toyota car sold by IMC has its headlight and fog-light beams adjusted way too low or they just ignored it, at least they can be adjusted ourselves. The suspension is quite bouncy, you have to really slow down on sharp bumps. The "company-fitted" seat covers are as hard as plastic ruining the comfort of the seats, just get those that won't compromise the seat comfort if it's necessary. The lesson is don't get optional features from showrooms that are not officially available. Not sure about the reliability since we had a 1.5L Yaris and ended up selling it as it was rarely used.
