And therefore I advised @chinyoti bhai to get top of the line variant !
But he asked me why am I getting 1.3 ativ cvt so I explained that in detail and anyone in a similar scenario would agree. It totally depends on the usage, if yaris will be your only car, or the best car in your garage then you should def consider top of the line variant but if you already have cars that offer much more features than local Grande or 1.5 Turbo civic and you are just getting yaris for practicality and some fuel saving or for taking it to areas where you cant drive cars with huge dimensions then even Gli Yaris is good enough obv you are not getting it for any fun ! 26 to 28 lacs is somewhat acceptable for a new B class sedan. 30.5 lacs + is way too much for it and you def have other better options in 3 million plus (like for example Axio , grace etc, yes i know those are not 0 meter but that is another debate)

Agree if it is a second or stand by car.

Also people CVT needs a lot of care and it is much more delicate than the conventional AT. It does save fuel, but then takes back more cash in fluid replacement and calibration.

I don't know why blue isn't for sale, indus is already selling 2 blues. Is their a third blue? Or the mica blue is for Corolla and fortuner only.

5,000-7000 rs CVT fluid after 50,000 - 100,000 km. Even more.

How is that bad for a smooth and efficient transmission technology.

7,000 rs is 4 litres pack, labour could be around 2,500 it is 45 thousand not 100,000 kms to change.

I did not say it is bad, but it is not a robust transmission and needs a lot of care and maintenance. Those who drive it 100,000 kms they are just driving it on bonus as CVT life is near to its end.

A friend who runs a workshop has handled many such cases.

They havent even properly advertised and launched Yaris yet, yes the display units have reached showrooms and they are giving test drives as well but booking started on thursday and everything got closed on saturday so in just 2 days and in this current situation bookings wouldnt have crossed even 500 mark and Indus has already made 900 cars (a guy who works in IMC told me this yesterday) so dont worry prices wont go up in few days. All the dealerships will re-open after 15 days and even that depends how everything goes in coming days so I dont think these prices will go up for 2 months atleast !

Hopefully this is all temporary due to COVID-19 and once the things will get back to normal IA this will come down. Part of it is due to economic meltdown and part of it is due to foreign investment being withdrawn in current situation.

Optimistic Theory: There are reports that if IMF and other lending institutes will deffer the interest payments of poor countries effected by corona that will give Govt. a very healthy fiscal space for some time as well very less pressure on foreign reserves. Add this to lesser demand of oil and its historic low prices Govt. may get a pretty good breathing space if they could use it to something good. Lets just hope that by than the economy survives this situation and we are able to slowly get back to normal in next 2 to 3 weeks.

There is stiff competition in India from City, Verna, Ciaz etc while in Pakistan they actually don't have any except a 10 year old City. So it has every chance of becoming a success unless it has issues on road i.e performance, maintenance, faults or if our Ustad party can't figure out how to fix things which is least likely as Yaris is not very advance tech anyway.

Has anyone driven 1.5 ATIV variant yet? Would really appreciate it if he/she were to share his/her experience. Have been trying to book a ride in islamabad but haven't been successful yet.

Toyota hasn't been very successful in the consumer market of India probably a late entry.

Corolla is a taxi there
Etios and etios liva weren't very well appreciated I don't know why we're they even made when yaris was already beautiful. (Vitz and Platz)

Yaris is struggling to tough competition. Inova /Avanza being a 7 seater works good as taxis too.

Suzuki is treated as a local make and has a very good emotional attachment associated to it
