Guys YASIR BHAI is not a replacement of Corolla and you cant compare them. GLI is just a stripped down version of corolla which lacks power and quite a few features which are available in yasir ativ.

I own GLI auto and i find yasir ativ better option than gli

You are just wasting other's time by proving that Yaris is better then every other car in Pakistan even civic . Come on man,atleast think once before posting any thing.

Now, an advice, compare features, yaris has some features that no other car in this category has, having said that, corolla has an advantage of having a slightly bigger size....

Yaris is a competitor of city... XLi and Gli have been stopped as Toyota it self accepts that these are too stripped off variants for todays world, they did not meet the minimum criteria set by government in the auto policy. They have been discontinued for a reason, Yaris has replaced them, definitely it is an upgrade to those two variants... what is the point in arguing...

Its like telling people that Mehran was better than alto... 800cc thi...

First you start complaining that we should buy Accord and Camry .

Make up your mind. You want people to sell kidney n liver to only purchase Camry/Accord/Civic.

Then complain that people shouldn't buy Yaris because it has modern features and ustaad cannot understand it.

Never heard that toyota stopped Xli and Gli due to some policy criteria instead Japan stopped 2NZ engine and secondly it will be not suitable for upcoming corolla on TNGA platform.

Let's suppose if Honda launches City with 8 airbags , sunroof, traction , paddle shifter etc , will it make City better the Civic or accord? Never ever, example of 660 cc japanese cars are with us , they still have more features then yaris but they can't be compared. Same is the case with Yaris , Toyota launched Yaris in replacement of Xli and Gli in same price bracket,with so many features. Reason is very clear they can offer all those features and still earn money as the platform is cheaper to make.

No one is forcing you to buy Accord or campry. These are expensive here due to our stupid tax system else Camry start at around 88k riyal in KSA that is almost equal to what we are paying for corolla or civic.

Hain? What criteria didnt Xli and Gli didnt meet? 2 airbags, immobilizer, isofix seats. What am I missng?

Only that Toyota isn't making a 1300cc engine for the Corolla anywhere.

Alloy rims, and power windows are no criteria honestly. World cars come without side skirts, alloy rims, chrome trims, and 4 power windows.

Lolz I was away for a day or two and thread went from City v Yaris to CVT fluid to Yaris v GLI ...

This was mostly like our talk shows, lot of talk but not much to take home about. I just don't understand couple of arguments:

• If City can be opted by families (urban families) why not Yaris if nothing its still few mm bigger here and there. And I see fully loaded 5 people City going on 1000kms tours. Yes they both are not comfortable for 5th but this is Pakistan, fuel economy & pricing matters a lot.

• If a GLI with less powered 84bhp engine can run all over Pakistan what could be wrong with Yaris with better modern engine. It is also Toyota so i believe it will still be as dependable as any Toyota is mostly unless our fuel or something fail the new engine.

• Actually to be fair a GLI is not a Corolla its just a body of Corolla on a hatchback's engine, a true Corolla should be Altis and Yaris can't come close to Altis. But GLI was obsolete that is why Toyota is finally putting it to rest in country like Pakistan where Mehran & Cultus were still selling couple of years ago. But rest assured GLI will maintain its market for few more years due to certain benefits due to its size and handling and comfort.

So all in all if ok with a used car you can go for GLI anytime (only the pricing is not goodof used GLI people are asking crazy amount) but if going for new one you have either Yaris or Altis ... (City is suddenly not an option anymore).

So chill guys, every car has its charm , its pro and cons and Yaris still have to prove itself here.

Since you have driven both cars, your point of view carries a lot of weight. I haven't driven both, only 1.6 altis, hence am basing my opinion/judgment on all the research material available. In another topic Toyota Altis 1.6 or Toyota 1.5 X Ativ CVT , somebody mentioned that sheer size can contribute a lot towards how much a vehicle is planted on the road and surely Altis 1.6 is heavier and larger. However i was reviewing a video in which it was mentioned that Chief engineer of Yaris 2019 benchmarked it against 11th generation Altis in terms of Comfort and driving experience. That's why I believe comfort and driving experience wise Yaris might be similar to Altis. Well i guess truth will be revealed once i get the hands on experience of Yaris1.5. Attaching the video for your reference anyways...

For everyone who believe yaris is based on hatchbacks......

I have heard they are increasing the prices when everything opens after lockdown. Those who got their cars booked will have to pay the difference as well.
Yaris is a good option because its price is attractive and we are getting a good car with safety features in this price. Now if they increase the prices by 50K (which i have heard) it will be a really bad step esp in the current situation. There will be a drop in sales already due to the current tension that is going on everywhere. This step will discourage the potential buyers as well who are already trying to arrange the funds or have arranged the funds but couldnt get it booked due to lockdown.

Sir mai 1998 Indus Corolla mein 9 fit ker chuka hoon to kya wo 11 seater hogai Grand Carnival ki tarah ??
Even mid size and full size sedans like Mark X and Crown fall under this category. Yaris k liye jazbaati nae hon
