Transfer of car from father to son

My father passed away a month ago and left behind an Indus Corolla (1999 model) in his name. Now I have to transfer the car in my name. Can anyone guide me about the procedure to transfer it in my name.

When a person dies, Succession Certificate is required in order to transfer property of deceased person to his legal heirs under Succession Act 1925 from civil court of the area where deceased person was residing.

Sad to hear the death of ur father May ALLAH bless his soul AAMEEN.tell u a Pakistani way to deal with a minor thing such as a car. for property etc its more complicated n wouldnt recommend/nor u can do so. just sign the transfer letter and attach his CNIC. our legal system is so complicated that hardly anyone checks such minor things. less u have a shareeka with anyone no one would ever bother similarly if u dont get along well with ur siblings then dont even think of this procedure or u'll be taken for a ride n a bumpy one. but if nothing of such sort then do it the Pakistani way.i remember once my uncle went to self declare income tax returns for his biz the guys in the katcheri didint know what u do!! lolzz tey made him go around so many offices n procedures , my uncle went home !! no one ever came back nor the Govt was much interested!!

this is right way... once my phuppa died, same process is done.. no one investigate..

Sir this is not only a matter of local laws or procedures. Yes one can easily transfer the vehicle the way u ppl mentioned but it is how islam has advised us to distribute the property of a deceased person according to the command of Allah. It is obligatory according to sharee‘ah to divide the wealth among legal heirs as Allah has divided it.

And Allah knows best.

• all material prosperity left behind by your late father goes to HEIRS -my (speech) text will be bit long but read carefully.

if you sign & transfer the car in YOUR name you will be doing a MORAL crime.
It is a heir-ship property and shall be distributed according to SHARIA.

1st thing 1st - get the breakup of heir-ship share to be divided among heirs according to sharia & school of thought your family follow.

considering car - get the market price of car divide the value over the heirs as their heir-ship share, deduct your share pay balance of the value to other heirs - then proceed with transfer without hitch sign transfer letter in back date & attach late father's cnic.

IF you do not PAY the share of heir-ship, religiously speaking you will be hurting your late father at a place where only he will suffer and can not express.

as mentioned in Quran & hadiths departed one suffer uncomfort until heredity box is distributed as per Quran & Hadith those who delay for no valid reason without consent of all heirs will suffer more then departed one either way.

keep concious clear it is the departed one who suffer if you choose any misappropriation.

You are 100% right. Its the shortcut and Pakistani way but let me tell you if you have some siblings and mother they also have share in fathers property. Even you may settle with them but if you have some "shareeka" or any one from your siblings is not satisfied with settlement he or she can complain against you and this will fall in committed crime and create trouble for you.
