Transmission oil change of Toyota Vitz/Belta/Passo/ (K410 Transmission)

you have many choices.

1- try some emery paste on the allen tool head and see if it grips.
2 - weld a nut on this - be very careful as you dont want to heat it up too much. just one or two touches with an electric welder.
3 - hammer and chisel to rotate it counterclockwise.
- in options 1 and 2 you might have to weld a nut on it for further service or buy a new sump plug.

btw - how did the mechanic strip it? Whenever such a screw is worked on it is standard practice to clean out the tool grip area with a small wire brush or pick tool and then blow out with air - this ensures the allen tool grips fully.

As u know Mechanics r so careless, i think there was dirt in the allen key screw hole or may be he used 5mm allen key instead of 6mm.

finally i managed to open the drain NUT of Transmission chamber with the help of Chisel & Hammer. Then I bought a new Drain NUT for my vitz.

Yup i also removed the plastic funnel with the same 6mm allen key

I did the drain / refill as you mentioned Xulfiqar. Thanks for your help. But I supervised the whole process with the mechanic as he was saying that some cars dont have the plastic funnel but I insisted he try and remove that also as only a small amount came out. Secondly after filling it and when it started to drain and stop to a drip he wanted to start the car but I refused and once the it slowed down to a complete slow drip I told him to put the drain nut back. Then I started the car.

cannot say if it says TC, but its a very large bolt, about 22 or 24mm.

I am based in karachi and need to get the cvt oil chnaged in vitz 2007. Can you please guide me to a good mechanic/setup that are expert in changing cvt oil of vitz.

Also do u have any idea regarding the cost involved in cvt oil change?

That plastic funnel inside the drain bolt is actually the gauge for the oil level. If the transmission does not have it then you cannot know when its full.

You dont need any sort of expert, its a very simple procedure which any mechanic that owns a 6mm allen key and a large spanner + funnel and pipe can do.

I own a corolla SE Saloon 2005 auto done 50000kms....thought about changing ATF....it uses Type 4..any how inquired about sump gasket and transmission filter ... no success.. called three SSS dealers ..Toyota ravi , Toyota Garden and toyota cant.... they didn't know about any filter of transmission...and no gasket....any how I drained and refilled with genuine Toyota type 4 ATF....thinking that something is better than nothing...

I just bought toyota vitz, in lower RPMs there is a grudging sound which disappears when cars moves to higher speeds it only comes during lower speed may be within 10 to 30 kms. Can you guys let me know any good mechanic for advise...

Will changing transmission oil resolve the issue

Yesterday i brought my vitz home its 2009 and with k1R engine code. At the time of purchase i asked the dealer that is the main reason for the failure of transmission in vitz. Before he reply he asked that how much cvt oil will you use for oil change i said 4L and he asked me the procedure, i told him exactly as it is mentioned in this post. According to him the procedure is perfrect this is the only way to change gear oil but he wasn't agreed upon the quantity of it. He says actually 5.8L goes to transmission. After digging lil more he told that you drain all the oil through chamber and 4 litter came out. rest of the oil will come out when you will start the car in same position.

I am not expert in it there for i am seeking some opinion on this from experts.

that dealer is incorrect, you cannot remove all the ATF by starting it as the cooler lines do not have ATF instead they use engine coolant going INTO the transmission.

GURU ..... you need to read your comment again.

The Raditor bottom which connects to A/T does not have coolant into it its kind of reservoir of a/t fluid circulating via a/t pump ..

its bass ackwards in the toyota CVT - coolant is pumped into the transmission unlike the regular atf coming to the heat exchanger in radiator.

its like the very old ZF boxes mostly used in BMWs

Xulfiqar bhai dealer him self owns a vitz and he recently change his gear oil in same way btw my vitz's odo says 42330 on how much km should i change the gear oil.

that would probably still leave the metal shavings on the magnets and filter
