Very usefull information I m having gear slipping issue in my brand new vitz 2010 and toyota motors are not able to understand whats wrong with it I hope after following these instructions the problem gets fixed

get a scan test done on the transmission, toyota techstream II is the best to do it and all dealerships (showroom) have it.

Brand new means fresh import I m the first user here in Pakistan and they did run the test scan which only indicated that the car is jumping from 1 to 3rd gear directly missing the second one and at time 4 as well so they have recommended to change the complete gear

Excellent Tutorial. I have Toyota Vitz 2005 and I have gone through all the same mess. Toyota Center near Tarnol Rawalpindi they used a hadnmade asbestos gaskit for the chamber rather than an original one made of rubber. So what happened it leaked from the sides of Chamber cover.

Could some one tell me from where can I get the original Gaskit for Chamber. Toyota Center told me they dont have any and it is not avaiable any where in Pakistan. My car is now down and I need the gaskit urgently.

Okay I found the Gaskit from Mehran Autoz Sadar Rawalpindi for PKR 1500 and it was made of some kinda sheet and not rubber but it fits and installs perfectly. Reading all the thread, I am slightly skeptical to follow which of two procedures for Engine Transmission Oil Filling. If any one can guide me. Its urgent coz tomorow I have to fill the Engine Transmission Oil myself as my car is parked in Garage.

First Procedure from TC Nut (Big Nut)

1. Open Sump Drain Nut at the bottom of Chamber Cover
2. Install the Plastic long tube
3. Open TC Nut
4. Fill the Oil till it drains from the Sump nut Drain
5. When oil drains, close the Sump Nut
6. Close the TC Nut

Second Procedure Oil Filler Port

1. Drain out all the oil (the old one)
2. Install the plastic tube and Sump Nut Drain
3. Open Oil Filler Port
4. Charge oil from Oil Filler Port till it levels off
5. Close the Oil Filler Port

Any body with any suggestion. Well to inform you, Toyota Motors at F-15/2 performed the first porcedure for oil filling which should I adopt. I assume the Sump Oil Drain Nut at the Cover of Engine Transmission Oil Chamber must be closed before filling the oil from Oil Filler Port.

bro i bought vitz 2008 1.0 and i have changed transmission oil ,engine oil/filter air filter so after drivng a few miles its showing yellow light...after changing oil the mechanic was playing with device which was connected near opening hood button now i don't know what he has done.

Any solution do u have>>

People reading this thread for information purposes, do yourselves a favour; torque all the bolts that you open while performing any maintanence. If not all, torque atleast bolts directly serving a prime function. This will be blessing in a decades time on your wallet.
Also find, buy or if going the normal unethical route, torrent, a workshop manual before starting anywork. Will allow you to avoid mechanic at all costs and instill a sesnse of passion.

Yellow light? CEL? For information, CEL stands for Check Engine Light. Have your car coded out with a scanner. Most likely a damaged sensor during maintenance causing this. Get the code ASAP.

You're wrong it has the same K140 Super CVT-i transmission.

I dont know why ghuncha said not to open it - but that big TC marked bolt is the fill port is nearly all new toyotas now.

that video is wrong procedure

the correct procedure is to remove the sump drain bolt then undo the plastic piece inside the bolt hole - it uses an allen key, all the CVT oil will drain out - and you can cleanly remove the sump without going "american sump drop" on it.

To fill back install sump, install plastic tube - fill er up with CVT from the big fill port. the plastic funnel thing is actually the gauge, its like a toilet flush tank overflow tube. it will overflow when oil is overfilled.

So I did get my vitz's (2006) oil filled yesterday from the side nut you marked is not the oil filter port, what should i do now? Need help

Dear PWers and xulfiqar, your expert opinion is always illuminating in PW. I am a disabled person, therefore went for the suzuki alto 660cc jdm 2009 (same as 2008 shape). It suited my budget well in 700k. I have few questions. If you provide guidance, I would be very obliged.
1. what kind of atf I may use ? and when to change it?
2. what kind of engine oil you suggest?
3. It has 3 gears or 4 gears in AT?
I would be thankful if you provide a prompt advice. This car was imported in december 2013 and it has 116100 now on odo meter....
