h1Nissan 'Think Outside The Parking Box' competition/h1
Organized by Nissan in collaboration with designboom, 'Think Outside The Parking Box' is an international graphic design competition which asks participants to submit ideas that challenge current perceptions of urban parking. The submission deadline is 27 September 2009.

Launched by Nissan and designboom.com, 'Think Outside The Parking Box' is a graphic design competition open to applicants from every country in the world, to professionals, students, and design-enthusiasts. Free registration is required.
Participants are asked to submit creative solutions that address urban parking problems, statements of objections, creative-innovative-and-hilarious ideas in form of videos, art- design objects and illustrations can be submitted.
Entries must include a Nissan Qashqai model or a part of it (rear-view mirrors, grills, wheels, wheel caps...).
A variety of images & videos of the Qashqai model are available in the Image bank after registering to the competition.
Designs may challenge any element of urban parking (underground, exterior, interior, multi-layer, ground level, shape, colors, material, smell, sound, ramps, signage, limits, etc.).
Urban parking is in need of a renovation. Ideas must challenge current perceptions of urban parking and offer a tougher, sleeker, or even playful rendering of it.

"The urban parking challenge is open to innovative designers with a bold and daring vision.
"Design is an innovative field with an ever-growing number of mediums to create this parking renovation: graphic, video, urban, industrial, lighting, motion and more. Ideas may be delivered as videos, objects or illustrations."
The jury will award designs and concepts which are innovative in terms of their formal / technological aspects.
The designers of 3 winning entries will win cash prizes of € 5,000, € 3,000 and € 2,000 respectively.
Participants and winners might benefit from visibility of their creations in major international media channels. designboom will publish an exhaustive results report.
Application registration will be accepted until September 27th, 2009.
