AOA to all the gurus, i am here once again and this time, we have decided to go to Chitta Khatta lake, proposed dates are 5th to 9th. The thing that i want to ask is can this trek be done in a total of 3 days? plus how tough this trek is? how do you gurus rate this trek, anyone that can recommend us a guide? i heard Mushtaq and Luqman are good but can anyone give me their contact numbers Thanks in advance

If u start early in the day from Kel then by evening you can easily reach the base camp of the lake.

Camp there and visit the lake early in the morning. Spend some time there and come back to Domail Bala.

It is a tough trek of around 7.5 km one side. Lots of climb is involved on slopes. I don't expect much glaciers by end August but some may be left.

Bridge is broken that links Kel with Shounter Valley so u have to cross it over a pedestrian bridge and then hire jeep from other side. No surety of availability of jeep on other side and usually they are overloading.

I wanna go to Shogran on Aug 14 for two/three days. Can any one suggest that these days are safe for moving with family? How will be the expected hotel rents in Shogran in these days? Due to Ramzan, there should be less people, Kahen bilkul khali to nahe hoga shogran??

You should be able to find a good hotel in 1500-2000. Rush will be quite less. There is no safety issue in Shogran.

one issue is of eadible items. in ofseason hotels there have nothing to serve at meals so plz take some food stufs with u and / contact the hotels there and ask in advance. sehri aftrai ka rola na ho jay.

baki as above no security threat there what so ever

yar i am not current with the rates as i have not been to kaghan valley yet this season......
also i have never taken taxi from manshera as i have alwayz travelled on my car

25th Aug: Start from FSD at 12 and plan to reach/stay at Muzaffarabad(Sangum Hotel)

26th of Aug: Early Morning Heading to Kutton/Jagran Valley(availability of Jeep from Kutton/fare?). Night stay at Kutton/Keran.
27th of August: Heading towards Keran. Stayed 1--2hours there. Return back to MZF and going towards Pir Chinasi. Night stay at Saran.
28[SUP]th[/SUP] of August: Return back to FSD or
28th of August(Optional): Heading towards Rawalakot.Visit Banjosa lake, toli pir.(where to plan Night stay? )
29th of August: At noon return back to FSD
My ride will be City2012 and I’ve to travel with my family (three kids: 8yr, 4yr, 9 months). If all seems good(regarding kids) then I’ll add one extra day of 28[SUP]th[/SUP] otherwise I’ll drop Rawalakot destination and will change according to situation.
So, need your advice to add some fine tunes in the plan.

rashid bhai i think u cannot stay in kutton these dayz as chinese engineerrs r there working on dam but plz confirm from any1 who has been there recently....

rest ur plan is ok just i think u can drop rawalakot and add sharda/kel side in additional dayz as iuts worth seeing if u r in neelum valley....

u shud visit taobat or shaunter as welkl in one day

A month ago, I've visited Neelum(Sharda, Areng Kel, Taobat, Shounter) so, this time with family I wanna chosen a relatively car friendly route.

Jeep fares are relatively less in Neelum valley as compared to Kaghan.

Banjosa Lake and Rawlakot both have hotels.

Guys suggest a family tour during Eid vacations...One of my kid has tonsils / asthma issues.
We want something nice where we can stay/relax for few days and has enough attractions for kids. Murree might be overcrowded...

Khurram bhai go to Swat and Kalam

The altitude won't be an issue plus rush will be low. You can even go to Malam Jabba if kid has no issue in Murree or Nathia Gali as altitude is same as Nathia Gali at Malam Jabba.
