I climbed on the peak just behind the lake to get the 360 degree views and panoramas. The climb to Rush peak is not technical and can be done in 1-1.5 hrs. I was loosing time on sun rise and first light appeared when i reached that peak so stayed there to capture the morning shots.

Road is in pathetic condition between Madyan and Kalam. Till Mingora it is a smooth drive.

Weather and security situation is fine. Keep warm clothes and Mospel etc. as recently lots of Dengue cases were reported in Swat area

Thanks to all of you guys! I called a local jeep driver in Naran and got the following info:

1. Route from Naran and Jhalkad is open but due to the security situation at Babusar and Chillas, Police is not letting people cross even Batakundi.

2. Route from Neelum Valley is open for jeeps!

Therefore I did not go via air but booked a 24 hours bus ride to taste a highway on sea ?Strong Nautical Highway?. Boarded a bus from Manila; where land ends bus enters a ship; ship transports bus to another island. Bus comes out of the ship and transports to another end of an island where another ship is waiting for the bus. This goes on all afternoon, evening and night until a ship docks on Caticalan Bay in the morning where my journey ended on a portion of Strong Nautical Highway. Buses came out of the ship and continued on their journey on Land/Sea. I boarded a small boat for a 15 minutes ride to the tip of Boracay Island. Next day I went back to Caticalan for a two hours van ride to Kalibo airport for a flight back to Manila.<o:p></o:p>

Hey everyone, just made an account here. I wanted some info on how much it would cost me to travel from Karachi to Kashmir. I read through some other forum posts and the route I've decided on is Karachi-Lahore by train Lahore to Pindi by Bus Pindi to Kashmir by Bus again.

If anyone could please enlighten me as to how much the cost would be for a not too shabby trip but not too expensive either. Specifically in regards to the lodging in Kashmir and Lahore. I don't plan on staying in Pindi unless there are places to visit there. I'm planning on a 10 -12 day trip.

Welcome to Pakwheels, although this is not the right/ideal time but Kashmir always has many things to offer. I think you shall look for Banjosa, Tolipir, Bagh, Lass Danna- & if can add 1 more day also visit Sudhangali- Muzaffarabad & Pir Channasi. All these places are accessible through road & have different sort of accomodations as well.
