I would recommend the ferry- More fun:) You can enjoy the view from the deck and walk around on the ship!. Well, price difference won't be much Train vs Ferry. http://www.visitflam.com/flam-railway/prices/- About 1660 NKR for 4 round-trip tickets, and that too Myrdal-Fl?m-Myrdal. Then you will have to take a train again just to get to Bergen!

Take the ferry- Train is readily available in Pakistan:D I've asked my sister, she studied in University of Bergen, IF she replies lol.

Btw, Colorline has 24 hour cruises from Oslo-Frederikshavn(Denmark). For 4 persons including a Lugar with 4 beds(2 overhead foldable beds), a toilet with a shower and you can bring your own car- 1800KR. It is totally awesome- 3D bowling on board, Swimming pools, Magic shows, Duty free shops and other fun activities for all ages. Meals are kinda expensive(Converting Rupees to NKR....duh) Breakfast buffet is 100KR for one person and you can bring your meals with you as well, no issues with that. Going on the deck at night is scary if you've seen the movie, Titanic.

Again, Nothing can beat the ferry. If Flaam is too far away or expensive- Do take a Fjord cruise- It will drive in between the Famous Fjords(Mountains) awesome view. Too bad I've never been to Bergen

lol..okay, oh that's a shame that you haven't been there. i guess when you're living there- such places no longer fascinate you.
yeah, that would be awesome, however due to shortage of time (and cash- i'm a bit stingy:P) we were thinking more of an hours cruise around the Fjords. so yeah, that's what we shall do then- and i guess tickets of such short ferry trips tickets won't be available online either. anyway, thanks anyway bro

If you really want to have a cheap option- Take ferry from Oslo. It will cost you about 250Kr for all 4 of you. You can visit urrm 3-4 Small islands and ticket is valid for one hour- Bus, train and ferry. One ticket costs roughly 30KR if I can correctly remember.
They have some ancient buildings and is pretty, On a Budget:)
