Travel insurance for norway help!

i couldn't find any reliable forum where i could ask this question so i thought i would try my luck here..
My family and I have to go to norway. the visa processing requires us to have travel insurance. we're travelling in the end of may and shall be staying for ten days.
i got a quote of 11500/- PKR from Jubilee Insurance Company for 14 days for 4 adults (2900 per adult and 5300 for a couple). Is this reasonable?

we really don't care about coverage (we're all doctors) and know a few people there too who are in this profession. we just want it as a requirement for the visa processing.

please don't tell me "ab is forum pay yeh bhi puch ja raha hai".. i seriously have no where to post. thanks

How long are you applying the visa for? Doesnt the insurance have to cover the entire stay?

We're going to norway for 9 -10 days. The insurance package that suits us is for 14 days.

It is perfectly reasonable. We were four family members (2 adults and 2 kids) when we applied for Norway visit Visa from UK in 2011 and paid almost same amount in (59.98) Pound Sterling. I hope that you are aware that there is too much competition for travel insurance companies in the UK and Europe.

Tbh, I've never used travel insurance before, Alhamdulillah never had the need of it.

It's good to be insured, an emergency can arise anytime and you would regret not being covered. It can even save you from sleeping at airport floors etc. Wish you the best of luck and do post some pictures:)

ah! my norwegian friend, well now that you're here you might as well tell me how hard it is to drive in norway.. i've heard that it's quite hard for us desis
i'm getting a good car rental deal... i can get a BMW 1 series or an Audi A3 for a reasonable price for a week, but i'm a bit skeptical about the driving situation there.

Driving in norway is easy. Getting the license is the hard and **** expensive part. Round bounds can be a bit tricky but if you can drive in Pakistan. You can drive here. Just remember the side. Its the opposite as Pakistan and the steering wheel is on the other side aswell.

One of the main things you gotta take notice is who is supposed to get priority to go first.

As in Norway, (LEFT Hand Drive) on a round-about, the person coming from the left will have the priority to go first.
Keep watch that you don't drive in one-way roads. Park properly within the lines, make sure the parking ticket is visible etc.

Getting a license is hard. Faen ogs? lol. Wish you good luck and hope you enjoy your stay there:)

Haha ogsaa naar du maa glattkjoere opp og ned bakker med bil uten ABS bremser.... lol. Derfor prover jeg aa faa lappen her i Pakistan, lage Internasjonal og ta lappen en gang til i England. Mye bedre.

i've decided not to drive there, aisay hee muft ke tension

btw, you can rent a car in UK on an ordinary pakistani drivers license ( provided you're above 25) - I will be driving there. I'm quite sure it's the same in Norway too

19 is the age in Norway, but you have to pay an extra 125 if you are under 25. You can rent a car and drive here aswell with a valid pakistani license for upto 1 year. If you choose to drive now its much easier considring the snow is gone must places.

i can't find any reasonable prices (NORLED ferry costs 2252 Kr for 4 people).. do you know of any other budget companies which can take us from bergen to flam?

Take the buss, Train (2 trains but they view is spectacular ) or your own car. (2 hours and 20 min) I think Fjord1 also sails to Flaam but not from bergen.
