Salam, i intend to visit Layyah and Bakkhar on next weekend. Please help for following:
I search the best route via Miawali

1. Best possible route
2. Road Condition via Mianwali
3. One way or single road updates
4. Some worth watching places over there or in the way
5. Average traveling time and distance

Yup, traveling from Islamabad.

Take Isb-Lhr motorway M2, take exit from Balkasar onto Talagang Chakawal road, it will go straight and continue after crossing talagang on Mianwali Talagang road after reaching mianwali take left onto Mianwali Muzaffargarh road go straight after reaching chowk azam you can turn right onto chobara road to reach Layyah. It is around 450-460km.

Yes the mianwali route is shortest and ok as well.
Other option is:
Isd > (M2) fsd I/C > (M3) faisalabad > (M4) gojra > Toba tek Singh > Shorkot > garh morr > chowk azam > layyah.

Or gojra > jhang > 18 hazari > mankera > bhakkar.

1. For me the best route is thru mianwali.

2. Road conditon is pretty ok:
   50mins: ISD i/c to balkassar (m2) ~95km
   30mins: Balkassar to Talagang ~35km good road, be careful about sudden turns
   1.5hrs: Talagang to mianwali ~100km
   ( some de shaped asphalt patches due to over loading of trucks)
   3hrs: Mianwali to chowk azam ~190km
   Almost same as Talagang to mianwali but a bumpy patch of ~15km at "khansar " area.
   30mins: chowk azam to layyah ~35km, good road.

3. Overall it's two way traffic except motorway till balkassar, but not so crowded and you can maintain 100kmph mostly.

4. Not much to see, you ll pass namal college (of imran Khan) located at namal lake among mussa kheil mountains. Some 40km short of mianwali. Often traffic is stuck here due to steepness and poor road (7km patch).
   There's "Al-imran hotel" 70kms after mianwali, good place to take a break.

5. Already mentioned the time and distance.

No issues except fr the fact that it's quite deserted.
You don't find much population and towns, specially mianwali onwards...
So it's a problem in case you need any sort of help.

Thanks for the info, will leave on Friday after Fajr Prayer Inshallah.
So it is two way road all the way except motorway upto Balkasar Interchange, it seems difficult to drive in night. Will try to back in the day light.

You will be going back to islamabad same day??
If so, don't forget to keep the pain killer you take for headache.

You usually get it due to a bit noisy road, cannot show you the de-shaped road (over loading effect) but you only need a bit of concentration to avoid hurting ur car's oil sump.

While driving you ll feel u re gonna hit it but you don't

It was wonderful.experience, though it was too hot. Road was.bit bumpy and not even one way but we have all this in our mind before leaving so we enjoy. A very different scenery from.other part of the Punjab, good meal on road side hotels specially tea. I suggest day drive anyway. I have driven almost every corner of the Punjab except one route, planning in December.

if if my start point is islamabad and destination is layyah, where should i plan for a break and lunch. iam planning to leave in morning say at 7 or 8 am.

recommend me good restaurant on the way. i am going with family and kids.

are there petrol pumps available specially Mianwali onwards
