Traveling on Motorway without M Tag

Hello, I am from Rahim Yar Khan and I plan to travel Naran. I plan to get a car on rent but here no car have M Tag and I read a news no car allow on M2 without M Tag. So, please guide me how I travel to Naran ,, either there is alternate route or they allow to travel if I pay fine etc. Or is there any tool plaza near Rahim yar khan where the owner of car get this m tag. Please help.

MTag is requirement for buses and trucks only. Passenger cars do not require it. So have fun for your trip

this is an old post. I have heard that in Dec 2021 M-Tag was made mandatory. I will be driving a loaned car which does bot have NM-tag. Can I use motorway from Lahore to Islamabad?

read the sign boards
go in the cash lane only

I just did a karachi Islamabad trip.

Altho I got a mtag, but I saw several unregistered cars traveling between lahore and Islamabad on m2.

I am sure unregistered cars do not have mtag.

Also at a point entering faisalabad my tag wasn't being read by the scanner after 2 to 3 minutes another guy came, "barrier kholo, gari nikalo rush nae lagao".

So probably still doable without mtag.

Can you describe process to get m-tag and associated expense details.

I am also planning Khi-ISB so is m-tag necessarily in this scenario?

Get it from karachi, just before entering motorway. They are open 24x7, with small breaks ( I reached 6.45 am they said will open at 7 we are closing cash).

Charges are rs. 200 and balance on top.

You need car registration book or card only.

It is useful for karachi and Hyderabad, then usefull at lahore/Islamabad motorway.

In between and on M5 (sukkher multan you need to pay cash every where).

You can check all details and expense report on a mobile app also notifies you when ever you car is charged on a mtag.
