Day-4 (Conti):
After getting clearance from Chillum Choki I turn my vehicle to right path.
Now the next point was BURZIL PASS which is 15000+ ft high, this venture was quite challenging for me, which requires high level driving expertise.
I have recevied 4 memos in Astore, in which my host breathlessly advised me to be very much vigilant and careful while climbing Burzil Pass and coming down from the pass.
Honestly, after seeking his that much concern, I was worried as well that how high and difficult it would be, that made my host to deliver 4 memos at my name?
Anyhow, there is another army post 25 km prior to Burzil Pass. I was stopped by Pak Army over there for verification and record keeping purpose. As i mentioned that i wasn't aware of the Burzil Pass trail, so I asked with these JAWANS that how far is the Burzil Pass and what is the road condition. I got Thunderstruck, when he pointed his finger to sonwy range of mountains at my back and said that "wo raha Burzil Pass, barish hai bohat, opper shahid baraf bhe parh rahe ho, app ne gari bohat aram se chalani hai, app k saath family hai"........
He left me speechless for next 5 minutes, suddenly my son came out of my car and insit to have picture with JAWANs. I halfheartedly made some clicks and went back in my vehicle.
I was barely able to hide my fear in front of my wife and told her the situation. As she knows me since childhood, she motivated me and said that lets go and remain extra vigilant.
I recite Ayat-ur-Kursi, Qul Shareef, Loh-e-Qurani, Dowa-e-Safar and start driving towards Burzil Pass.
As I was driving up and up, I felt that the vehicle is getting weak and weaker, as the oxygen level was almost below average, weather was extremely cold and it was raining like cats and dogs.
As soon as i was about to reached on the top, small snow drizzels start showering, and i witnessed some pedestrian army troops walking amoung the dense snow, passing through burzil pass.
Here are some pictures of the BURZIL PASS and the Army Checkpost before Burzil.</SPAN>
