Travelling from Islamabad to keran. Need guidance on road conditions, route info and preferable car

Assalamou Alaikum, I am planning a trip to keran from Islamabad from 30June with my family and need some guidance from someone who have visted Azad Kashmir in recent time.
I have civic 2015 and wagonr 2015 which one do you prefer.
Would appreciate to have input on current roads conditions, safest route options as most importantly this is a family trip.

Any help would be appreciated.

I visited 2 yrs before to neelum upto Kel and Taobut. U can go to Karen on Civic easily, although road condition is not so good but u can drive carefully. from karen and onwards car is not recommended.

Waalaikumussalam. I visited Neelum valley in last week of May. There is only one route so no options to choose from. As far as the road condition is concerned, from Isb till kohala bridge road is just fine. Kohala to Muzaffarabad is excellent. Mzd till keran the road has some bad patches but overall its ok. You dont have to worry about vehicle because till keran koi bhi chalegi. Even till sharda there is no issue. The only problem I foresee is landsliding which is very common in rainy season. I hope you have reserved your accommodation as it is not advisable to travel without prior booking in this season. If you need more current information you can call AJK tourism officer Mr. Zia ur Rehman Abbasi in Keran @ 05821920106 or 03115160924. He is a friendly person & may help you regarding hotels, road conditions etc. One last important thing which may be of help to you: there are no mobile signals in Keran not even SCO works there. However from Mzd till Athmuqam SCO sim can do the job.

Visited Keran about 10months ago
Road condition is just fine the road uptil Athmuqam is a double lane road(Not like Karakoram highway bro) nd further from Athmuqam its turns into a very narrow road.The worst part was that the temperature was still 26 -27 which could had been 15 17 in naran with same travelling time and better roads.Any how the only attraction in Keran is the border look jisme kuch hai nahi dekhna ko is ka ilwa rasta mein bhi no water falls nor can you touch the river or have a view as its flowing a thousand feet below .All the beauty starts after Sharda which takes about 12 hours from Islamabad nd alot of bucks
I personally will recommaned you to travel further uptil KEL or wait a few days or weeks nd travel naran side

I just came back from keran.. still in muzaffarabad..
Road is fine with some bad patches and 2 3 landslidings in the area.
Now People can take their cars uptill Kel.
You should go for civic.. because civic will perform smoother than wagonR while ascending.
Neelum valley is full of tourists now a days, make sure you did advance booking.
Im also here with family on toyota Surf 2003.

We are 4 people, travelling from Lahore to Neelum Valley on the night of 2nd July. How are the road conditions? Any recent landsliding? Also, what will be the rush condition? I planned the trip assuming people would be back by Sunday.
