For the trip of these kinds, all depends on the area where u are trekking. For Shimshal, u need to take one guide, a cook cum porter and depending upon the number of days and people the porters are required.
Our initila plan was for 15+ days of trekking but was cut short due to the numbers of days we lost reaching Shimshal.
The food purchased was rice, atta, biscuits, dry friuts, instant soups, noodles, oil, tang, jams, acchar, tea, coffee, pulses etc.
Two gas stove and one gas lamp was also purchased.
The rate per Shimshal Natural trust are as follows;
Guide 1000Rs per day
Cook 600 Rs per day
Porter 330 per stage. Normally 2 stages are covered in a day. Rest day for porters is at 165 per day. On long tracks, when while you deplete food, some of the porters are released and rate for their return is 165 per stage.
Porters carry a maximum of 20kg and each one has to be given 500 extra as kit allowance.
Out trip cost us around 80000 Rs for porters, guide and cook. we were carrying gear for climbing which included ice axes, climbings ropes, snow boots, harnesses, snow anchors, ice screws so the weight was more.
Total porters used were 11 with one guide and a cook.
