Trekking trip to Naran and Fairy Meadows

Hey All
we are planning a visit to Naran and fairy meadows at the end of june 2012. We are 8 guys from lahore and we want to visit ansoo lake,nori top, saral lake and dudipatsar lake in Naran and then crossing through babusar pass to chillas and then to fairy meadows and Nanga Parbat base camp.

Here is what we have planned

Day 1: From saiful muluk to ansoo lake.
Day 2: From Naran to jhalkhad and then nori top. can we camp at or around nori top or can we proceed to the saral lake the same day?
Day 3: Nori top to saral lake and then to dudipatsar lake.
Day 4: Dudipatsar to Besal via mula ki basti and then crossing babusar pass to reach chillas
Day 5: fairy meadows and night stay at beyal camp.is it safe to stay at beyal camp?
Day 6: Nanga Parbat Base camp and Advance base camp back to fairy meadows

Please let me know does the above mentioned tracks possible in the time frame mentioned. and would this be a realistic schedule. Thanks

Very tough trekking plan and would need atleast 10 days.

If u want to come back to Naran on day one after Ansoo Lake then u have to start early around 6-7 a.m. from Saif-ul-Muluk so plan your arrival in Naran accordingly.

I think u will need a rest day here coz for next 3 days u will be on trek.

It will be snow bound trek for Nuri Top and then to Saral Lake through the pass. And again if u r able to reach Saral Lake then Saral Pass will also be snow covered on way to Dudipat Sar Lake. If u r properly equipped and have experience of trekking on hard snow then only attempt it.

You need 2 days to reach Dudipat Sar from Nuri Top if u use Saral Lake route. Then 3rd day will be consumed to go back to Besal and u will only be able to reach Chilas by day end so night stay there.

You can camp at Beyal but facilities are much better at Fairy Meadows.

Thanks for reply, We have moderate level experience of trekking we did the ansoo lake trek last year.we have 10 days in total including the journey from lahore to northern areas. we have 5 days for Naran and 3 days for the fairy meadows.

Could you please tell me how much time it take on the following tracks

Nori top to saral

saral to dudipatsar

u can reach ansoo lake lake and back to saifulmalook in one day if u start early

u can start saral lake trek on next day but wont reach. ull need another day to reach dodi from saral via saral pass and. next day u can reach back to baisal.

now i dont t hink babusar top will be open in end june but if its open u can reach raikot next day and start trek to fairy meadows.

baisal to dodi = 7 hrs
Noori Top to Saral = 8 hrs
Tato to fairy meadows = 4 hrs.
fairy meadows to Beyal Camp = 1.5 hrs
Beyal Camp to North Face BC= 4 hrs

Hi,

I am new to this forum.. I am planning to make a trip of Fairy meadows, Naran, and Lalazar in last week of March... I inquired to NATCO but their bus timings are very late. Nowadays they are running 2 Daewoo busses from Pindi to Gilgit after 6 pm and 8 pm..
1) What is the feasibility to go to Fairy Meadow and Saiful Maook in last week of March.. How will be the road and atmosphemric condition these days?
2) Can anyone provide me info about bus service? Are there other convenient bus services also available at Pindi bus Stop? Please share the name and numbers
3) In return from Fairy Meadows will I necessary need to go to Gilgit from Raikot ? Isn't there a bus service from Raikot to Mansehra or Pindi?
4) Does anyone have experience of living in Pakistan Youth Hostel in Naran?

Hi ghanifarhan
First of all if i talk about saif ulmalook lake, then it will be snow on lake trek, you need to go on lake by trek. jeep will go on lake at May.
same as Lalazar and other places in Naran.
Paramount advanture club is going saif ul malook on 21 Feb 2012, you can join this group.

Same case will be with fairy meadows, you can go fairy meadow by trekking in march but it wil be defficult for biyal camp due to snow.
