Here is another map: Nuri Lake Trek

I am using an old version of Google Earth satellite image for this area as new imagery only shows snow. Though this one is also a winter shot but a bit clear.

Top right route is coming from Jalkhad.

Red line marks the jeep track from Nuri Top towards Sharda.

I have marked the location of famous waterfall which is made by the nallah coming down from Nuri Lake.

If u want to see this nallah then follow the green trek. Disadvantage is that u have to climb a lot again to reach the lake.

If u don't want to do the climb then cattle tracks also go from Nuri Top towards Nuri Lake and for this use the blue trek.

The valley towards left leads to Ratti Gali Pass.

The trek is around 3 km and will take atleast 2-3 hours of trekking.

Nice information - thanks for sharing. Do you guys have information about the trek of first two lakes of Sat sar mala i.e Sambak-sar Lake and Dharam-sar lake. I read somewhere that its a 40 minutes jeep track from babusar top and then 1 hour walking on trek.

Firstly haven't done this, just been at the starting point years ago and heard stories of amazing snow further up the beautiful Kumrat valley. I know its kind of hard core and I am not really sure whats the difficulty level or even if its doable, but it seemed like the easier link between Swat/Dir Kohistan and Upper Chitral valleys, which are a few miles apart but separated by very high mountain passes...

Starting at Kumrat Valley beyond Tal, you keep going up the valley and aparently cross all year round glacier to end up at the base of the majestic Thalo Zom mountain (place marked as Zhagi Chatt?), kinda downhill walk from there to Sor Laspur valley, just short of Shandur...

The early part of the trek appears very doable but I am not sure on the high glacier crossing as there does not appear to be any summer footage of the area on Google Earth. A few pics on Panoramio by someone look quite scary....

^^ I have seen some pics of this trek and snow and glacier formations are just out of this world on this trek. It is no doubt a very tough trek and in absolute wilderness.

ON another note, please also share your maps of Do Teer Pass

I talked to some people who have trekked across the "Do Teer" Pass though its a nice jeep ride from Utrot, Swat to Tal, Dir Kohistan. I am not sure however if thats the real name of the track or if our local hosts came up with that. Anyways, have now seen quite a few places in Northern Pakistan, but there is something truly magical about the Kumrat forests in Dir Kohistan, isn't there?

Ah, a glimpse of the Kumrat Forest (after many years of longing) while approaching Tal through the beautiful valley, can smell the freshness looking at the pic! Though the light ran out for us that time, Its actually a very difficult scene to really do justic with the camera as have never really seem proper photos of the valley, though some recent pics by @asifcae (I believe!) were a treat. Need more !!!

I want to know where this road is going... is there any route to Swat side or somewhere else.. there r 2 or 3 these types of bridges between Dassu to Chillas..

^^^ This goes to Dyenter Valley which finishes on opposite side of Falak Sher and Mankial peaks i.e. on this side is Dyenter and on other side is Matiltan and Kalam. But there is no known crossing into Swat from this valley. I don't know if there is any local trek for Swat side.

^^^ This one is Tangir Valley bridge near Sazin which is a huge cultivation hub of Diamir and is famous for locals wearing flowers in caps.

yes saw this bridge and road getting swept off by 2010 flood like it was made of cotton. it was horific

Here is the general map of the area:

Road goes from Gilgit to Nomal on left side of Hunza River. Mainly if u r staying in Gilgit then vehicles will cross Jinnah bridge over Gilgit river and start journey on Nomal road.

There is also a small bridge between Nomal and Rahim Abad but i am not sure whether it is operational for vehicles or not.

Bottom right: KKH coming from Chilas

Bottom left: Shandur road

Centre up: KKH to Hunza on right of HUnza river and Nomal road till Nomal on left of Hunza river

Here is the map of lakes area. Road goes till lake 4.

Multicolor lake is Lake 6.

Strong blue is lake 3 and 5.

Upper lake which requires a short trek is lake 1.

I have heard from locals in Kalam that its possible to trek across the Mankial mountains to Dasu/Chilas. I think Google Earth also mentions the crossing as Paloga Pass....
