Hi all,
We are 9 people family & friends planning a trip from KHI to northern areas and back to KHI.
We have planned two itineraries one for skardu & the other is for kashmir and need to know which one would be more suitable depending on the weather condidtions, greenery/Autumn views etc.
Plan#1 for Kashmir: 10th October to 22nd October
10th October - Day -1: Leave in train
Day 0: Reach isb. Night stay in isb.
Day 1: leave from isb in night/ early morning. Breakfast at muzaffarabad. Visit dhaani,teetal border and jaggran waterfall/ valley. Night stay at Athmuqam/Keran (preferable if ratti gali plan). If keran, book valley trackers.
Day 2: Leave for ratti gali lake via doarian. Day trek and time spend there. Night stay at Doarian/Keran (depends on where you drop off your luggage before ratti gali track, doarian is preferred).
Day 3: leave for kel and reach in 3hrs to sharda. Sight seeing and reach arang kel in another 2hrs. Night stay at Arang kel.
Day 4: Night stay at arangkel.
Day 5: leave for shounter. Night stay.
Day 6: night stay at shounter. Boys can leave the tour from here in morning and go back to isb to catch night flight.
Day 7: leave for Taobat. Night stay
Day 8: Night stay in Taobat.
Day 9: Tarvel back to isb. Night stay in isb.
Day 10: leave for khi via train.
22nd October: Day 11: back to KHI
Plan#2 for Skardu:
17th October Zero Day: Saturday evening - leave for isb
Zero Day- Reach Islamabad and stay overnight there.
Day 1 - leave for Gilgit/Astore. Night stay there. It's an 11 hrs drive.
Day 2: if in gilgit, leave for astore in morning. Visit Rama Meadows & lake (optional as trek is tough and approx. 50 minutes). Night stay in Astore. There are 7+ hotels there.
Day 3: leave astore via chillum. Visit burzil top. Reach minimarg. Visit rainbow lake+ 3 forests on the way there. if it is accessible (Permission needed from army here which takes 20-25 mins. Night stay at Gorikot.
Day 4: leave gorikot for sheosar lake. Move to kala pani and forward to deosai. Time spend there. Leave for skardu via sadpara village. Night stay at Skardu
Day 5: leave to see Khaplu. Visit Khaplu palace/ fort/ chaqchan mosque. Night stay in skardu. Visit manthoka waterfall on way back to skardu. Night stay in skardu
Day 6: Visit shigar valley + fort. Spend time there. Visit sarfaranga desert. Stay back at Skardu. We can spend night at lower kachura lake to see the night view (but depends if permitted as entry is probably not allowed after 5 pm).
Day 7: Spend day at lower & upper kachura lakes. Spend time at skardu bazaar. Night stay in skardu.
Day 8: leave for isb via kkh/babusar early morning. Reach the closest point preferably naran/batakundi.
Day 9: Reach isb from naran. Night stay in isb.
Day 10: leave for Karachi
29th October-Day 11: Reach khi
We don't want a hectic plan and want to enjoy to the max in given days so please advise accordingly.
