Lal sohanra park is on the cards as I haven't recieved such a news about the animanls. So not skipping it at the moment.

Lal Sohanra is crowded on weekends. I visited it in early December. Do visit something like a deer breeding compound a few kilometers ahead of the main park. Though deers were less this time in number as compared to a few years ago, but it's still worth a visit. Whispering hills is another attraction, that too a few kilometers ahead of the main park. Coming from Yazman these places come on your way to the Lal sohanra. There is a TDCP accomodation also at lal sohanra but never tried it so no further information.

...Yes Raheel Bhai, we were "aik hi" camp mein thay and Faraz's sleeping bag was not upto the extent to bear the temperature of about -10.

No actual hills. But there is a small lake and a large "elite rest house" used by some renowned politicians in the past.

Nothing unique there except dense, quiet and green forest all around.

On serious note, Would recommend buying famous Bahawalpuri Chunri.

ok me being a "Yazmani" can't be quiet on this thread
i visited derawar fort just last month. and road is really not good. It will require very patient drive, as there will be good patches, you'll speed up but then again there will be rough patch. The best route to Derawar will be from Bahawalpur to Ahmedpur East via GT road, then leave GT Road, and get on the road to Derawar (you might also ask about the road leading to Shahiwala Bangla from there, as it will come on the way to Derawar).
You can also go from Bahawalpur to Yazman (good road), then Yazman to Shahiwala Bangla (average road), and Shahiwala to Derawar (poor road), but this road will be tougher.

yup, try to avoid visiting on weekends, if you really wanna enjoy the nature there. It has been long time since i visited there, so not really upto date.
You can go there direct form Bahawalpur, and via Yazman also.
The road from Yazman is really scenric, alongside a canal. From Yazman to Sohanra, you will encounter a Helipad, Deer breeding compound, a high Watchtower, a very beautiful and scenric rest house (whispering hills). But there are security concerns on that road, so people usually avoid that road when going with family. But for a group of pakwheelers, it shouldn't be a problem.

Yazman to Lal Sohanra road isn't even on google maps, so i have drawn a line where it should be. you can just follow the canal from Yazman to Sohanra on the map to get the idea.

and from Lahore to Bahawalpur, your best route will be on GT road all the way, From Lahore to Khanewal to Multan, take southern bypass there, and then straight to Lodhran to Bahawalpur. Excellent road, dual carraige all the way.
There is also a road which goes direct from Khanewal to Lodhran and it is 30Km shorter, but don't take this road, road condition is pathetic, and its not a dual carriage road, and full of heavy traffic (loaded trucks etc) and they usually don't care about other cars on the road while overtaking each other.
