I am planning a trip to Fairy meadows and Deosai plains with my wife in May 2015. Here is my itinerary:
Day 1: Karachi --> Lahore
Day 2 and Day 3: Lahore --> Chilas via KKH
Day 4: Chilas --> Raikot bridge --> Tattu --> Fairy Meadows
Day 5: Fairy meadows --> Beyal Camp --> Fairy meadows
Day 6: Fairy meadows --> Astore --> Rama lake --> Astore
Day 7: Astore --> Deosai plains --> Skardu
Day 8: Skardu --> Mehdiabad waterfall --> Khaplu (Places near Khaplu?)
Day 9: Khaplu --> Skardu --> Shangrila lake, Kharpocho fort, khachura lake --> Skardu
Day 10: Skardu --> Chilas --> Babusar top --> Lulusar lake --> Naran --> Lake Saif-ul-mulook
Day 11: Lake Saif-ul-mulook --> Naran --> Shogran
Day 12: Shogran --> Rawalpindi --> Lahore
Day 13: Lahore --> Karachi
I have some questions regarding the feasibility of this trip:
- Will Babusar pass be accessible in May?
- Will Astore, Deosai be accessible in May? And will we be able to reach from Astore to Skardu in a day while also staying at Deosai for an hour or two?
- What other places we should visit near or at Skardu?
- Will it be safe to camp at Saif-ul-mulook with family? Will there be other families or groups as well?
- Overall what do you think about this itinerary? Is it feasible?
