Trip to Murree on 9th & 10th Muaharram

AOA!

I am planning three days trip to murree/Nathigali in Muharram holidays (9th & 10th Muharram) with family on mehran.I will left Lahore on thursday (9th Muharram) in morning for murree n will b back on sunday (12th Muharram) after three days stay in murree and nathiagali as well..I need some good suggestions on below mentioned matters.I am going to murree after 5 years so any good advice other than below mentioned matters will also be appreciate.

1-due to 9th or 10th muharram any obstacles which can disturb my tour like jaloos,road block in this way?(if the scene will b tough due to 9th,10th muharram, i will cancel my tour n will b arrange in future)
2-can mehran acess easily through murree motorway?
3-good hotels for family stay within reasonable range (3k to 5k per day).

1. If you go by M2 and then Murree Expressway (N75) then I don't think you will find any blockage because of Juloos.
2. Yes Mehran can go there easily if in good condition.
3. During these days, the rush will be minimal and you will find hotels in quite reasonable range.

You will definitely find obstacles on the way and the amount of people travelling during those days will be huge so keep in mind that you can be stuck for many hours on the way.

My humble suggestion would be to take a day or two days extra leave and travel on 7th or 8th muharam and come back on monday.

in my opinion if you want to leave on 9th muharram be at motor way by 9am max

Thanx to all of u for guidance,plz also share if anyone have experience of murree trip during 9th & 10th muharram,can i move easily in surroundings of murree on these days with my family? is there any jaloos,majlis etc. can struck me in my hotel in murree on 10th muharram?

if you travel on GT road, then you will defiantly find some road blocks

i have been to Murree once in 2006 during 9th and 10th Muharram and it was really too crowded and I also expect the same this time as holidays are coming very close to weekend and people will have long weekend and galiyat is the best to access.

as far as jaloos in Murree, there was one jaloos which appeared on the morning of 10tt Moharram on mall road and ended at GPO chowk and all shops were closed for couple of hours but after that life became normal! So carry on and enjoy good time off!!

Bundle of thanx for sharing ur experience,it will help me alot towards my tour planning.one thing more i need ur suggestion,definitely i will travel through motorway from Lhr to ISB but from Isb which way should i adopt murree motorway or GT road as i will travel on mehran 2008 with my wife n two kids as well.

i would have advised the Murree old route (may be called GT road) which is more scenic and shorter as compare to motor way but not sure what would be the condition on 9th so better to follow the motor way but dont use the Murree express way which is too steep and does not give the comfortable drive

Hi guys i am also planning to travel on 9th morning by GT road, to Mangla Cantt. I was thinking of leaving early like around 8:30 AM, would be wise ?

my experience was okay.. on 10th Moharram morning murree mall road was closed for jaloos for around 2-3 hours and after that everything was normal..

I went Naran during 9th & 10th Muaharram holidays with family in 2017,i did't face any problem,as i have reached on 8th Muharram there and left Naran for Lahore on 11th Muharram morning.
