Trip to Naran 3 Nights with Family. June 2018

Hello Gurus,

I am planning a trip to Kaghan Valley, a week after EID i.e. from June 23rd.

I have following questions:

1- Is the environment family safe?
(I have visited Naran with friends 3 times but with family, you have to be sure)

2- Will Babusar Pass will be open by that date?

3- Will this be Off season or not? What prices for hotels to expect?

4- What temperature ranges to expect?

5- I am thinking to rent an APV from Islamabad for this, should I take it with or without fuel charges?

1. yes it is safe.. its the 2nd favorite destination of pakistan (after galiyat)

2. it will probably open around eid.. keep checking forum for latest

3. it will be the MOST ON season around your dates... expect prices to be high and loads of tourists! rates 4000+ on below avg hotels and 8000+ on above avg hotels

4. low temperatues... bring jackets and shawls/blankets with you.

5. thats your choice! most rental car owners expect you to pay for the fuel

1- From any city of Punjab, environment is absolutely fine and some where cold like Babusar Pass.
Even with family, do not forget to visit Saif ul malook but do it your self even in june you it can be done in Rs.2000 not more than this, people who do not know the rate they pay more thatn Rs.3000 for jeep.

Season is ON, hotels depend on you brother, I suggest that do not hire any hotel at Naran, take hotel some place before Naran so that price may fall and as you have your own APV so no tention of moving and hire hotel before sunset other wise it may be costly due to rush time as everybody is going to have some feasible place (hotel).
   And related to Food, I suggest that it should be done outside the hotel.

3. Temperature you can check on internet

4. APV is ok and in my opinion without fuel is best because what ever you use more or less that is infront of You.

I with my family visited Naran and babusar last year in mid july. As per my observations.
1. Yes, It is safe for families.
2. Yes, I think it will open.
3. No, it will be full season after Ramadan. hopefully you will find a good family hotel in Rs.5000
4. It will be moderate cold ranging from 10~20 C.
5. Take it without fuel. You will be free to take it any where.

Dont be scared so much my friend naran is more than safe ,first time when i went there with my family i was also very scared but now when i go there i dont even think about safety issue
Though it would be peak season but you can get hotel even in 2500 rupees, only thing which u will hv to do is search.
You can stay in any hotel even if its not big ,dont scare in staying in such hotels ,becaz this is their bread and butter,they will not ruin it
Regarding hotel its better to search there in naran as their rate depends on situation ,some time u would get good hotel in cheap rate as that day it was not full and some time small hotels on higher rate becaz of full occupancy

Thank you all. Just worried about hotels as I have heard there is a lot rush these days in naran. And I need a family suite or two rooms, but rates on the websites are sky high. Around 8-10k per room per night.

That's why I was asking for hotel recommendations in advance

rates on websites are high coz only big hotels are listed there. small hotels are not listed on websites and can be booked on the spot at cheaper rates. you just need to bargain hard.

I recommend to skip naran and stay at batakundi.

if you are just going till naran than no need to rent apv, better take ptdc bus from pindi, will be economical.
