An advice for you if planing to visit with family, travel on jeep not car. You can hire jeeps Pajero or Surf from muzaffarabad. Rent (obviously with driver) on my visit was 2000/- per day with your own diesel.

Bro here u need a little correction its not a forest rest house, its Local Govtt rest house actually my father is in this department and last year i visited this area and knw actual situation, hope u dont mind this:)

@luckybilal. I am thinking of a trip to Neelum Valley after Eid. Can you please let me know the places you camped and also did you feel secure?

Given the time constraint, I am not planning for Kel but considering KundalShahi/Kutton. Do you think one can reach their on car or else, what are other options.

Thanks for asking brother. First I camped at AJK Guest house lawn in Asghar Abad, just before Muzaffarabad if you go from Kohala side. Next I camped at AJK Tourism Lawn in Karen. If you are on car and not planing for KEL, its very good in sense that two most difficult 'Nalah' are just before KEL, its real challenge. You can visit Kutton on car, no issue in it. In kutton you can stay at Govt. colony called water power or hydro power colony. They have very good rooms for family and bachelors.
I must say that I totally felt secure during all my visit. People of Neelam are so kind and good. By the way what car you are planing to take with?
