We are two wanderlusts, who want to travel every once in a while. We're youngsters and only recently discovered the craze of travelling. Obviously there are hurdles when you start going out :v specially for youngsters like us. Facing them, we set out to NathiaGali on my bike; Honda CG125 2016 Model.
I have known the bike industry of Pakistan for a little while now, and i every now and then DO find Yamaha YBR best of the 2 other cliches ( CG125 and GS150 ) but despite that i always admired the throttle control of CG125 and its reliability.
A little info about my driving skills : I may not be the BEST driver but i certainly do have control on the bike.I learnt biking from Keith Code: Twist of the wrist. well most of it, and i follow its rules mostly., Youtube it if you have no idea what it is, its the bible of riding a motorcycle.
We set out at 8:15 with the bike's meter reading almost at 13913km. I warmed the bike's engine for 5,10 mins and after the petrol pump we headed directly to Murree. Till Islamabad to Barakhau i drove at aproximately 100km/h on average and after that we drove slowly enjoying the cold weather. We went to Murree through the other way and not the highway.
on the way to murree i tested the bike's road grip and it was fine, i made good (not perfect) lean angles and drove with the yellow line through out. Bike was giving no problem Engine-wise also.
We reached Murree and had breakfast there. Then we set out for Nathia Gali. On the way to NathiaGali, Bike started giving problem and was missing on high Revs. As to the people who've been to NathiaGali know that the elevation is not A LOT and very minor as compared to high altitude places in Pakistan. But still bike was missing in 2nd gear above 7 rpm. and throttle was losing control in 3rd gear even on very low ascends. But except 1,2 places i never switched to 1st gear as engine sounded like it was gonna blow up. Halfway through the road we saw some snow and stopped for some pics. The snow was fresh, we expected it had snowed the preceding night. we continued our journey and we reached Changla Gali. A little ahead Changla Gali there was a road on whose sides, there was plenty of snow, seeing the snow i attempted to stop at the side of the road and as i braked when i was at the side, The bike slipped and we both got dragged a little ahead. The bike's indicator broke off at once and the steering got out of angle. I got up and put the bike in gear and made it stand but still it was slipping. What i didnt notice when i was driving the bike was that the road had water on it, and due to the freezing temperature, the water froze and formed fine ice which was slippery. Else snow is not AS MUCH slippery as frozen water on a fine surface. then i managed to get the bike to the side and luckily i knew hot to straighten out the handle and i did so and started the bike. It started in 2,3 kicks and was giving not so fine sounds, like there was damage somewhere, but i found out that the side foot-rest got loose and it was making a vibration noise.
We stopped there to enjoy the snow and had a little snow fight. another couple with 2 kids was coming on bike with the whole family and they slipped also, but they were at more speed than us, at aprox 40km/h. We ran there and slipped ourselves also
but managed to get the kids calm and helped the family stand up, luckily no one got hurt.
After this we thought agay nahi jana chaheyay kyunkay agar aesi he baraf hui tw hum nahi chala saktay . But we kept on with our journey like this, Agar aik do aesi he jagaen aaen, but tab tak mujhe chala aa gayi thi ussi jami wi baraf me, and I figured out that agar bike ko constant throttle de kar, dusray gear me kam rev par chalaya jae in the areas which are less wet tw bike ke tyre slip nahi kar raha. Aur mene yehi kia aur Allah k fazal se hum Dounga Gali pohanch gaye. Is waqt 1:15 ho rahay thay. Paharon me raat jaldi ho jati hai, so humne socha tha k aese nikalin gy k 4:30 tak nechay utar aaen. 15 min k rastay k baad hum Nathia Gali pohanch gaye. But we wanted someplace jahan sukoon ho, and Bazaar me sukoon nahi tha, so hum pechay muray cuz someone told us to go to NathiaGali park. udhar aik resturant nazar aya jahan k terrace par dhup bohat achi thi. Hum wahan Coffee penay beth gaye aur garam dhoop saiki . Warna ungliyan freeze hogyi thin aur bike chalanay me dushwari ho rahi thi. Namaz parh kar udhar se hum park k liye nikle. park wali road se 2 rastay jatay hain, sedha rasta "Namli Maira" ke taraf jata hai aur pechay ka rasta aik Hiking Trail ko jata hai. Hum Namli Mairay ke taraf agay janay lagay jab humen 2 aur bikers milay jo CG 125 par he thay and wo bhi agay ja rahay thay. Mene unko kaha k agay chalen and hum pechay aa rahay hain. THori he agay ja kar road ke halat bohat kharab hogyi aur descent (utrai) the , baraf bohat zyada thi aur agay wali donon bikes slip kar gayen. Ye dekh kar mene foran bike ko 1st gear me daal kar, brake laga kar clutch chor dia, aur gear lock hokar bike band hogyi. Phir mene bike se utar kar, bike ko mora aur start kar k halkay halkay agay le kar gya takay bike dubara slip na ho.
Un donon bikes ka bhi zyada nuksan nahi hua. Phir humne NathiaGali hiking trail ka rukh kya but us trail k liye time nahi tha hamaray paas. So hum udhar se laut gaye, wapis dounga Gali pohnchay taqreebn 3pm tak aur udhar se nechay utarna shuru hoye, ab bike missing nahi kar rahi thi but patakhay maar rahi thi bohat zyada. Wapsi me bohat sambhal kar chalae aur almost 4 bajay hum Muree Gloria Jeans par thay. Udhar beth kar humne Coffee pe aur dubara wapsi ka safar shuru kia
The race
It is to be noted that both of the race-ee were racing decently and in a friendly manner and we rode with safety gear and didn't make any dangerous cuts etc during the race and followed road rules upto the extent that we also gave indicators during the race
Murree highway bohat achi bani wi hai, so udhar me bike khul kar chala raha tha but udhar ke speed limit is 80 so me 80 nahi cross kar raha tha. But saath he mujhe do bohat achay riders ne over take kia aur me impress hua unki riding se, they were at 100 aprox. mene bike speed up ke and unkay saath ja kar clutch pakar kar rev di aur race ka ishara kia, They understood and unhonay bhi bike bhagana shuru kar di. Aik straight path aye aur me foran agay nikal gya kafi zyada race de kar, i was at least at 120. and Ybr pechay reh gaye, but agay ja kar turn aya aur mene speed down ke upto 90 and turn lia, but me pura lean angle nahi bana saka cuz mujhe dar tha k bike slip hojae ge, so mene speed aur ahista kar k 3rd gear daal dia aur turn lia, Turn par Ybr mere se bohat agay nikal gya cuz usne bohat zyada speed par turn lia aur uski road grip itni achi thi k uska lean angle BOHAT acha tha aur SUPERB handling thi uski bike ke. Again aik straight path aye aur hum donon ne full rev de kar bike agay nikali tw meri bike phir agay nikal gayi. aur mene left hand se ishara kia k jese k me race jeet raha hun. But again agla turn charhai ka tha aur bohat risky tha, tw mene speed kam ke aur wo dobara bohat zyada speed par turn kaat kar nikal gya. Then again puri road he turns wali thi and me agay nahi nikal saka us se, end me ja kar aik turn aya and udhar mene speed zyada kar k turn katnay ke koshish ke and meri bike ka tyre wobble kar gya aur me girnay laga but bike control me karli. Ybr walay ne pechay dekha aur usne bike halki karli aur me uskay saath saath chalanay laga and then he said to me Good race bor and vicotry ka ishara kia usne and wo agay nikal gya mere se. iskay baad me dubara apni normal speed par he chalanay laga.
**So YBR WON and is se mene ye sekha: **
* YBR ke total speed kam hai, and acceleration bhi kam hai, but in the long race, YBR ke road grip itni achi hai k wo perfectly chalae ja sakti hai, Honda 125 road grip chor deti hai aur na he itnay achay lean angles bana sakti
YBR ke shape bohat achi hai aur air pockets sirf aik shodi nahi hain. jab 120 ke speed par tha me tw meri bike kaanp rahi thi because of the air resistance, but YBR bohat stable chal rahi thi and smooth mere samnay.
In the end agar ap dekho tw YBR is not cosmetic siraf, YBR international standards ke bike hai aur is sab k baad mene faisla kia hai k me aik YBR bhi loun ga IN SHA ALLAH after sometime.

Aftermaths:
At the end of our trip and reaching home, my meter read : 14127. So it was a 214km trip and i think aprox 6 litre petrol laga hoga at MAX so average comes out to be 36km/l which is okay i think.
Total cost of the trip came out to be around Rs.1500. Which is quite cheap.
Repair of indicator and foot-rest cost 100rs, also along the way the traffic was too much so i forced the bike on a very high green-belt and went to the other road, thus breaking the front plastic mud-guard thingy, so that cost 20rs
