Petrol consumption in Karachi city will probably the worst in the country. That's obviously due to awefull traffic jams. So you can definitely expect the Vario to give 14 w/o AC in city and 13 with AC in city (hey driving styles differ! Keep the revs down and avoid driving in S or L modes)

Bro, I dont know the exact, but accelerate calmly and avoid sudden braking. Shift gears as smoothly as possible and youll get most fuel efficiency.

I am actually doing all this - i.e. accelerating slowly and also not reving much - infact max RPM on average is mere 3k

First thing, ur rims n tyres are too large for the car.15 inch rims are heavy on the idsi engine, plus the 195 tread size.this could be the first reason for ur cars' low milage.

but there can be other reasons too, the quality of fuel, the way u drive i.e. hard acceleration and higher RPMs cause low fuel economy.it can also be something about tuning of ur car, when was the last one done?? and wat did u get done in it?

i still dont know how u guys run the idsi on 14 and 15's with 195's.
the car even with stock tyres feels like running on 2 double AA size batteries (like a good friend of mine says and i agree)

bhai u r quite right ! city is kinda Electric car , lolz
but it runs fine , i feel lil under power when comparing with xli or anyother 1.3L car, but its not that bad, it can take 5 ppls with ac to muree on my 185 tires via express way ..... lil sluggish in pickup but its ok, as i dont intend to race anybody, its enough for daily running ......
rest i must add, my city idsi 2006 on petrol used to give me 18 and sometimes 19 km/liter on highways, and 13-14km/liter in city,

i have a lancer,
for 6 liters it runs about 60km. which is about 10km/L

i remember my old city 05 model used to do the same.

civic 05 6 liters for 50km. (with 17" rims)

rav4 6 liters 45km

With all due respect sir, the meaning of that statement is that from 1.3L to 2.0L, from standard to highest model, all have the same shape, same looks, higher models may have side skirts n rims etc on exterior but still, pay 1.3million of 1.9m , u get the same shape... thats wat the point was.

Well, we dont have a lot of options.though 195 is a bit too much for city, but it gives excellent grip n stability.the acceleration is sluggish even on the stock 165, so by changing tyres to 185/195, atleast u get the stability which u never had on 165s.

Within City with Partially A/C on... 12 to 13.5 KM/L (lets say half time A/c on)
Within City without A/C in winters... 14 to 15 KM/L

GT road with A/C full time on... fan speed 1 (18 to 19 KM/L).. Speed mostly @ 100 KM/H and less...

Motorway...partially A/C on... Speed 120+ KM/H almost all the time... 140 KM/H for half an hour... touched 160 couple of times.... Fuel average around 13..

It gives best fuel economy while driving under 3 RPM
It has less initial pickup so don't dare to do a drag race with corolla or new city

Overall an excellent car... Drive comfort, fuel economy, space etc...

Good calculations... thats very much do-able for idsi.

just wanted to tell u that fan speed wont effect fuel economy, its on 1 or 4, wont effect.
