Turbo Anti Lag System (ALS)

So i've been wondering lately, has anyone done this? in pakistan i mean. would love some feed back. specifically for a 4efte build with als (the wrc style als, not drag launch control)

i really have a feeling there isnt gonna be much response to the thread since its a really complicated topic, but what the heck, worth a try??

an anti lag is used to keep the turbo reving/spooling.
The bigger the turbo the bigger the lag time.
ALS helps in reducing the lag by delaying the ignition upto the point where the exhaust valve opens so that the expanding exhaust gases could push the turbine inorder to keep it moving on a higher speed.........any thing else sir,,,,,you want to know from this side of Pakistan?

ALS is not recommended for street use. The very direct method is to feed fuel directly to manifold which spools the turbo at even lower rpm but the heat and pressure will kill the turbo very soon. Engine struggles under braking and will not last for long with ALS.

Its Only Use Mostly In Extreme Racing Terrain Where Continous Power Output Is Required........The Extreme Temperature Can Damage Turbo And Exhaust Manifold In No Time.....!

Its Not A Street Use Stuff As Pop's And Its Sound Can Literally ANNOY Dead Man Out Of GRAVE's

Thanks for the reply, the discussion was intended on making an ALS setup for a 4efte. i have a fair understanding of the concept but not sure on how to implement it. like is it possible without an aftermarket ecu? and if not, is there someone here who can set up after market ecu's??

yes i understand the consequences but in theory shouldn't a good manifold and turbo be able to withstand it if very nominal amounts of fuel are used for the manifold combustion?

What if one uses Water/Methanol Injection, will that prevent from turbo failing or will it just delay turbo failure?

Water/Meth Is Used To Control Your Combustion Chamber Temp And To Make Your Engine Perform Better under Extreme Temp...

Somehow The Exhaust Temp Will Remain High And Anti-Lag Is Out There Working ........So I May Make Some relief For It But Not Much...!

@durrani90 bro it would be a better option to have a standalone FMS that is sololy made for the said purpose, along with a good AIC.

could u explain the UNICHIP to me please?? i herd some piggy backs retard the ignition when als is active, hence no need for separate injection system. if osmeone could explain this further please?

do what ferrari did. stick a fuel injector in the exhaust manifold. .mind you, those were qualifying engines pushing 700+ hp out of a small displacement so it didnt matter if the turbo blew out after every race

I am very much excited to read this,first of all i would like to say thanks to @atta1111 to tag me here
The anti lag can be ONLY done with an aftermarket ECU, also we can do it with Unichip.
I will try to explain the system in simple words,
First there should be a clutch switch which tell your ECU or Unichip that now the anti lag should work when the peddle is depressed.
What happens is that we retard the timing to such a level with adding required fuel amount the the car will make more boost on low rpm (this is the point a tuner can set how much boost at this level should be achieved ) but as explained by many fellow friends that make VERY high EGT and you MUST have a good turbo manifold and a turbo to hold this temp.

As soon as you release the clutch the Ecu or Unichip will switch the ignition timing and fuel to normal values and you will make massive power at the start. ( this also need a good track traction ) if you are using for drag otherwise you are going to waste all this in the wheel spin.

As I Said..These Are Only For Extreme Terrain...In Normal ...You Just Can't Afford To Do.........You Might Need Your Own Workshop And Deep Pockets To Afford As You Will Have Dead Turbo Anyways After That.....

Anti-lag system - cool as hell in theory, royal pain in the rear in actuality. It would be wiser to use a properly matched turbo with the correct A/R. But if you insist on ALS, I don't see why you can't have rudimentary functionality with retarded timing and increased injector duty cycle at 0% throttle using a piggy back unit.
