Turbo civic fuel consumption

Aoa we are planning on getting a turbo civic 2016-17 model so can someone plz tell me it's fuel average and do I need to run it on high octane only?

Hi-octane is recommended for this variant because of our fuel quality issues. Within city it gives 11-12km/l easily.

No, you don't need hi-octane. Hi-octane is for Rs. 145/l versus Rs. 72/L for regular. You have to be insane to use hi-octane. This car doesn't need it. As for fuel economy, I get around 12km/L in city and 17-18 on motorway.

In the past, most Turbos have faced knocking issues. My 6th sense is saying that the decision might not be right for you. I would sincerely suggest to avoid buying Turbo, and then specially 2016-17 model.

If interested in Turbo, the raise the budget and go for a brand new one.

Always buy a brand new civic. Never ever go for a used civic (same case for most used cars) and if still you intend on buying it used, find someone who you know has kept his civic in tip top condition and has done every maintenance according to the owners manual

A well kept turbo is far better than a new RS considering the insane prices. Knocking issue was solved in late 2017 with ecu software update and not a single time after that i encountered the tick tick knock sound plus even before the update i noticed the knock 2-3 that also when i didnt used ATTOCK h-8 pump and on instant pedal push. Turbo in Islamabad gave me around 12-13kml in city with many times full throttle push.
1000 rs Hi octane and rest normal used every time it would perfectly work even without Hi-octane there would be no issue maybe in long run there can as it turbo engine and need hi-octane.

Drove 17 Turbo for good six months And never filled Hi-Octane. Never faced any issue. Secondly buy a Turbo after a complete inspection. Otherwise it’s a big no.

Turbo is opportunity of failure in essence.. Reduces space in engine bay and increases fuel consumption... Never liked turbos.

Paddle shifters can simply be engaged by clicking them. If you're in D, however, the car will go back to auto in few seconds. But if you're in S and engage the paddle shifters then it will remain in 'manual' mode until you take the car out of S.

And yes, if you satisfy yourself thoroughly as to the condition, then a 2016-17 Turbo will be a good buy, though ideally you will have to mix HOBC or use full HOBC.

Just incase, you may go through thread by Spano who has bought used Turbo 2016 . There are number of persons who have bought used Turbo 2016-2017 and are enjoying without any hassle.

Dear there is no need of Hi octane. I have 2017 Turbo and I use hi octane very occasionally and that is only for amount of 2K rupees.

Hi octane is not mandatory for civic Turbo

Can you please share you maintenance practice/routine like sparks plugs, transmission oil, throttle body and tuning etc bcz i also have turbo 2017 and is fully honda dealership maintained so far and mostly driven on normal petrol except for long trips or occasionally 50/50 mixture of normal & high octane

It is regular maintenance only.

Car is driven 26k

And every thing is stock

Yes. Turbo might be better in terms of power and torque (other features and build quality are almost similar to 1.8L 10th gen. Civic I believe), however, as many of their owners faced knocking issues (agreeing to the fact that they were removed afterwards via some software upgrade, but some damage might had been done) and then substandard build quality in 2016-2017 model Civics, I am of the opinion that 2016-2017 model Civic Turbo may not be considered.

Still... its just my opinion, others can of course disagree.
