I really want to buy a honda civic rs turbo 2019 model in particular.I met with a friend today and told him about my decision and he gave me some advice to not get it because it requires high octane fuel to run and that its oil needs to be changed constantly and it doesn’t run properly in hot weather so therefore i want to know what would i have to do to keep it in good and running condition and that will i have to use high octane fuel or can i use the normal fuel?I would really appreciate if i can get a reply regarding all of this.

Wa Alaikum Salam.

YES, High Octane can be an issue to avoid engine knocking, however, regarding changing engine oil frequently and that, it does not run fine in hot weather; these 02 things do not seem fine, right and logical to me.

I think, your friend does not have straight facts.

Honda Civic Turbo RS can work fine in hot and cold weathers both.

2ndly, it does not require frequent oil changing. You need to change it after every 5,000 kms, and use any of 0w-20, 5w-20, or at max., 5w-30 fully synthetic engine oil from some reputed brand. Oil needs to be 100% authentic, meeting latest API SN / SN + / SP, and / or ILSAC GF-5 / GF-6A criteria.

What if i use the normal fuel like euro 2 over high octane will that be ok?And will it be ok if i use euro 5 over high octane or does it specifically has to be high octane for the car to run properly with any issues?

Euro 5 is basically a High Octane Fuel RON 97 with an upgraded standard, these two are not different things, however, for Turbo RS, High Octane RON 97 Euro 5 is recommended fuel to avoid Engine knocking and to improve Engine performance.

No idea about it, but if the Normal petrol's RON meets / exceeds the RON requirements of your car, and details mentioned in the manual, then there should not be any harm in it.

I think NO issues in it.

It would be best if you could raise your concerns in its relevant thread; the dedicated owners / fans club page (if it exists for Turbo).

Turbo runs absolutely fine on regular fine.
It requires RON 91 minimum which is available in regular now .

Its maintenance is just like any other car. Oul change after 5000km to 8000km depending on oil grade .

Get car with service history and you will not regret it.

Go for it eyes closed.
