Tyre noise

Last month I got the delivery of my XLi (Alhamdulillah). When Idrove it off from the show room, I felt that the wheels were making too much sound (my santro was much quieter). I thought the sound would go away as I was going to change the tyres anyway.

After a couple of days I changed the rims + tyres to Dulop Eco 195/65-R15. Now the problem is that although the grip has improved quite a lot and the ride is also comfy, but I still get the same sound while the car is moving. I hava also observed that the sound seems to be more in the morning while I am going to office than while I am coming back (but that may be my misconception).

After all this background, my question now is that is the sound coming from the dunlops? Should i change them to Yokohama C- Drive? Or do you guys suggest that I should stay put and eventually the sound will go away (or I will get used to it :))

It's possible that the cars alignment is out which is causing one or more of the wheels not to track propperly. you should get this checked because this can lead to premature tyre wear and even for the tyre to malfunction due to the generated heat.

pakistani cars are more prone to problems. i have many brand new cars with one rear brake light working. one coure came without its meter light.
anyways check the guddi of tyre. and then take it to alignment wala and get it checkd by them too.

noise comes while turning to a particular direction or noticeable in all turnings.

keep tyre pressure as prescribed in tyre manual/brochure, and check alignment. hopefully nothing's wrong with trans.

I guess if it were an alignment issue the car would not go in a straight line without holding the steering. Which is not the case. Also the sound comes from all 4 wheels.

Its a constant hum that comes while the car is in motion in straight line as well.

well if its a constant hum and increases with speed this can be some wheel bearing issue not sure if it can happen with a new car...........
but u should expect some humm noise from a 1.3 XLI tyres....

u sure, its from tyres not from brake pads/rotors or wheel bearings.

Normally steel belted radial tyres produce more noise as compared to nylon belted. The difference in morning and afternoon is probably because of difference in tyre temperature. Secondly environment is more silent in mornig as compared to afternoon rush hours. I think may be you are running your car on low tyre pressure.

Thats the question in my mind. Is it the bearings? But I would not expect all 4 to make noise at the same time, as is the case here.

I also thought so that the difference could be due to the temperature.

if everything is fine then its the case of mis-alignment and more importantly under inflation, i.e. side walls touching track for no reason causing this nuisance.

get the bearings of the car checked...i had a 2001 model camry xli executive aus mein yea problem shuru ho gai thi..first i thought the tyres r old so i got them replaced problem still continued...there is a fault in ur bearings get em replaced under warranty!

Similar problem is with me i have changed tge tires to dunlop lemans 702 but the problem contiues should i check my bearings
