Dear all, I am planning to change the tyres of my 2010 honda city 1.3. Currently euro star 175/65/R15 installed on it and the car is giving 16.4 km/ltr without ac in city drive with 82000 kms on odometer. I am tired of euro star due to its stiffness and would like to install a softer brand but 175/65 tyre size is not available in imported brands. The next available size is 185/65 but it exceeds the allowable up size limit which is 3%.
Height of 175/65 tyre size(175x65%=113.7mm)
Height of 185/65 tyre size (185x65%=120.2 mm)
3% Allowable up size limit (113.7+3%=117.1 mm)
So the height of the 185/65 tyre is 120mm which exceeds the allowable limit.
The closest size is 195/60
Height of 195/60 tyre size (195x60%=117 mm) within the safe limit
As we can see that 195/60 is within the safe limit but due to its width and weight - I am worried that the fuel economy of the car may drop and I don't want that to happen because I am already getting the best average with 175/65 stock size.
You all are requested to share the fuel average and tyre size of your cars so that we can find out whether the fuel average of the car changes due to its tyre size..
