WHERE CAN i BUY 4.10X18 AND 100/90R19 or 3.60 R19 DUNLOP or MICHELIN tyres for Honda bike. I'LL be grateful if Any one can help.

Thes sizes are hard to find in Michelin & Dunlop here in Pakistan but easily available in Thai & Korean brands like V rubber & Shinko (Golden Boy). Golden Boy is Korean brand & i installed almost Same size In my GSX 750 & they r working very good.

Dear Imran Bhai, I did buy "Cheng Shen", Taiwan brand size rear tyre
4.00-18
from pindi but the size (cross section width) is only 3.50 inches as compared to the earlier installed DUNLOP GOLD SEAL K87
4.00-18
size whose width was 4.50 inches. This has hampered the rear look of the bike.

I would prefer to buy wider tyres like DUNLOP GOLD SEAL K87 4.00-18 for rear and DUNLOP GOLD SEAL F11 100/90-19
EVEN IF FOUND SECOND HAND WITH SOME TREAD ON THEM.
Any clues on second hands? Thanks. Take Care.

I m not in favor of used tyres & even while buying new tyres one shud check its manufacturing year. But if u got some good tyre @ very low price then u shud consider used one. BTW presnce of tread on tyre is not the only health sign for a good tyre. With passage of time rubber bcomes hard even if not used. some time unused tyres or old one also got de shped which causes bubbling etc type problem as well.

I m bit cofused regarding size of tyre u mentioned. coz 4.00-18 tyre wud be 4 Incehs wider with 80% hieght of its width & same goes for 3.50-18 & 4.50-18 as they wud be 3.5 & 4.5 inches wider respectively.

I mean above mentioned sizes are diffrent so how u r saying that previous 4-00 18 tyre was of 4.50" wider & recently bought 4.00-18 is 3.50 Inch wider? Basicaly all these sizes are diffrent from other & have their own width.

Dear Imran bhai.

The cross sections I indicated are actually the same as I quoted. The rule like 30x10.5R16 which means that tyre is 30" high with 10.5 " width and fits 16 inch rim or something like 275/80 R16 which means 275mm wide tyre with 80% aspect ratio (or 80% of width=height) and fits 16 inch rim is very true for car tyres but the same that I expected is true for bike tyres is infact proven wrong as I had purchased the bloody CHENG SHEN 4.00-18 tyre last week. The inflated cross section on rim measured with vernier caliper is infact 3.5" compared to the DUNLOP K87 4.00-18 tyre which was 4.5" in width when inflated to same pressure. This has also some relation with the tyre brand and different models (like DUNLOP K87 or K70 etc with 4.00-18 size) of the same brand

I may go for soft rubber old tyres with some tread if I can find them. As you rightly indicated, I know the associated problems as I have used them sometimes for my cars. I need your experience if any on the availability of used ones. Where to find them? Thanks. Take care.
