I bought new Vitz 2015 model and it came with the Radar System. The owner of the car didn't even knows what it was. I never gave any importance to that and assumed that it would have been something like a MOTORWAY EASY EXPRESS E-TAG thing. ( was so dumb on that LOL ) well, there might be people out there who don't know.
Now when I was in the car driving and when i was close to the vehicle in front. There was this light blinking 3 times and 3 warning tones I heard and for just 2 sec the car just jammed and the ABS was activated. even tough i haven't applied any breaks. I had no control on car. There was this weird sound GERRR GERRR GERRRR just like ABS but the ABS light was not shown in the meter box
When it happened the first time i was super confused that what the hell was that..
after few days same thing happened, I was near to a car and was actually crossing it closely. This thing again happned and there was this weird noise this time GERRR GERR GERRR like the engine is breaking or something and then that 3 warning tones and car was breaking automatically. I was not pressing the brake paddle.
Not to forget that in both cases my speed was around 30kmph.
My problem was that even though the distance for Collision was not that close and the speed was low the PCS system still activates and try to stop the car. You don't have any control on the car and the breaks and ABS applies at once. Tough i haven't seen the ABS light on when this sudden break applies.
Now i tried to fix this thing and wanted to learn whats wrong here.
Firstly this detail was not found anywhere. Even on Toyota website and on safety features and all this was not informed in the book. Which is available online. I was pissed on this on the first time.
If this is happening to you people out there then u have to turn this SYSTEM OFF
When you press it then it changes some RANGE settings. I never went in that.. what i did was simply PRESSED and LONG HOLD THAT BUTTON.
IF you do LONG HOLD PCS system will be deactivated and this you can see on the speedo meter.
